If you mean you need to install windows, you need to set your cdrom drive as first boot device in advanced bios settings or it will try to boot into a non-existent windows. Make sure your hdd is showing as the master drive, save settings and exit bios. Re-boot pc with windows disc in cd drive and hit enter when prompted to boot from cd.

Hi there.
Firstly remove the power cord from the back of the desktop, then turn the unit round so the back of it is facing you, on the right hand side there may be a couple of screws and plastic catches, remove the screws and lift the plastic clips so the side panel opens up, once that is done you will be able to see the motherboard, the hard drive looks like this >>>>>now depending on the type of dell you have there maybe screws or green plastic strips that holds the HDD in place, if you cannot get it that way then the front panel has to be removed.
If this is the case post back and I'll tell you how remove it.

please follow these steps.

1. Click on START button, the click on RUN
2. Enter REGEDIT and press enter
3. When REGEDIT starts, open up the following folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4. After clicking on {4D36E965-E325 -11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} you should see two settings on the right-hand side:
"Upperfilters"
"Lowerfilters"
Click on each of them, press DELETE and click YES.

Then close REGEDIT, shutdown & restart your PC
