I called my house at 10am. The call was transfered to the kitchen. Nobody picked it up so I hung up. The phone still shows as if the line is busy on the extension where the call was taken. If someone calls my house, they get a busy signal. If I try to make a call, I get a no free lines message. I disconnected the phone and it didnt work, Please help me.

Re: How do I unstuck my Phone from line in use?
Unplug all the phones in the house, or go out to the NID (network interface device) on the outside and disconnect the "line" from the "network". It should have a standard modular plug. You should be able to plug a regular phone into that jack and see if the line has cleared. Chances are there's a phone in the house that's partially off-hook.

This is a standard phone so I'm assuming you're using this in a home or small office, connected direct to a regular phone line, and that you're using calling services from your phone service provider. 3-way calling works as you describe: you press flash to get dialtone again, call the other party, then press flash again to connect the two so all three of you can talk. The point is that this is 3-way calling, not a forwarding or transfer function. You can't transfer a call to another number this way. Since you initiated the 3-way call, the connection requires you to be there; when you hang up the connection between the other two parties is broken.
Your line may also have call-forwarding, which lets you program a number that calls to your line will reach if you're away (an alternative to using voicemail or an answering machine and needing to check messages). But this doesn't allow you to transfer a current call to another number, only incoming calls.
The only way you can transfer a call is when you have the switching equipment (an office phone system, for example) at your location, and have at least two outside phone lines available. Then the system would allow your phone to disconnect, and still maintain the connection between the other parties. But both of the phone lines would remain tied up until the other parties hung up, and if you only had two lines you'd be unable to receive or make any other calls.
Residential customers with a single phone line don't have any option to transfer calls.
So what happens when they press TRANSFER and dial your extension? What happens when you call someone with a display phone and your extension comes up on the display?
The FWD/DND button shows that you have a FWD or DND condition set on your phone. Try pressing it one or 2 times and see if the display says FWD to xxxx. Now, if it is cleared, from the intercom dial 7104 (busy) or 7105 (no answer) 165 # That sets the CF on your phone.
If the others have lost your DSS button on their busy lamp fields, and truly nobody can "transfer" calls to you, you can reprogram those with PROGRAM 99 (don't pick up the handset) press the button assigned to your extension and dialing 1 + your extension and STORE.
Go to settings on your phone, click on the phone option, it will display different option, select call forwarding or call divert, enter the number you forwarding the call to and press ok, you are done. follow the same procedure, when you get to call forwarding, you can select to cancel as you can no longer add a number.
While on the call press the transfer button (above the hold key) and the extension you want to transfer to.If you want a screened transfer, wait til the extension called answers, and ask if they wish to talk to the caller on the line. if they dont, pick up the caller off hold. if they want to talk to them hang up and they'll recieve the call. If you want to blind transfer, hang up after you dial the extension and they'll get the call without screening.
