Need new control board

SOME FRIDGES HAVE A RESET BUTTON IN THE CONTROL BOARD OR ON THE CONTROL BOARD

I have done some research and here are some steps to solve the problem: For Maytag and Jenn-Air refrigerators press and hold the lock and light buttons (lock and water on newer fridges) on the dispenser for about 4 seconds, until the indicator light blinks. Once it blinks release the buttons and the reminder light should be reset.

Called maytag with model and serial number. This is a very common problem. They sent a new mother board free of charge within a couple of days. You will have to go to the back of the fridge to swap mother boards. It was pretty simple if you have a little patience. Maytag wanted to charge $200 for the service call but it took my husband about twenty minutes. Then you will need to reprogram with the code inside of the door. I was told that this happens alot if there is a power surge, so I now have the fridge on a surge protector. Haven't had a problem since. Hope this helps.

Yes you have a bad relay on your compressor.Remove the rear panel and take off the relay on the compressor shake it.If it sounds fried then you need to order new on .Just give your model# to your local parts depot and ask them to order you a new compressor relay hope i fixya:)

BTW your fridge is on recall from Maytag.

Check to see if you have frost on the back panel of your freezer in your fridge. If you do your coil is frozen over and you'll have to defrost your freezer. I just did mine cause mine wasn't cooling properly on my fridge side.

I had the exact same problem. Maytag sent me a new main board which fixed the problem. It is pretty easy to install and is located behind the fridge behind a metal panel.
