Beeps 3 times when turned on

The machine, all in one, not indoor/outdoor split type, will make beeping sound when something is wrong and stops working until it is turned off and turned back on. Some times the machine needs to be reset with the power on, covers removed, reset button inside on electronic mother board.
The ice machine covers have instructions and information on beeping sounds.

Have a look at the side of the evaporator; there is a probe (thermistor) attached to it that tells the control board when to initiate the harvest cycle. make sure it's clean and attached properly and doesn't need replacing. If hitting the float switch initiates the harvest cycle it sounds like you have a blocked/ scaled water tube or switch housing. take off the bottom of the switch assembly (black rubber bit) and clean through to the water chamber. run a cycle of descaler before trying again.

remove the screw(s) and slide the cover towards the front (the cover over the control board near the wash/ice switch.) with the machine on carefully locate the reset button on top of the circuit board and push to reset..

Freeze cycle too long. Usually about an hour. Many things can cause this. Look for water running even when machine is off. Stuck float switch causes this. may need a tech to check things out.

Do not use test button. It test the functions of the board only. You have another issue. Need to know the number of beeps. Usually beeps a certain number of times, then hesitates,then beeps again.

The 3 beeps indicates that the unit was in the freeze cycle for 60 minutes. Causes: 1.) Water valve leaking, allowing water to continually enter the system. 2.) Float switch stuck, sending false signal to board. This indicates ice not being produced. 3,.) Low freon level causing long freeze cycle. 4.) Hot gas valve leaking thru causing warmer than normal evap plates=low production. 5.) Expansion Valve not feeding freon properly to evap plates.
Items 1 and 2 are the most common. Number 3 possible due to freon leak in the system. Number 4 and 5 are usually a very rare occurance.

If you take the front cover off and look on the flip side of it, there should be a chart telling you exactly what the beeps mean. If it is not there or if you can't find it, let me know and I will clarify it for you. It may help to let me know how many times it beeps. It should beep from 1 to 7 times and then repeats. Also on the board, there is a very small reset button. Usually either black or white. You have to look very close, but it should be there. I would not reset it at this time, untill you find out what the beeps are trying to tell you. There is a reason the machine shut down on it's safety device. Good Luck and let me know if I can help

I have a Hoshizaki KM-250BAF that is making 3 beeps then pauses and them makes 3 beeps again. If I unplug the ice maker and plug it in it continues to make the 3 beeps. The manual does not mention anything about beeps. Can anyone help?

the beeping is a fault code i need to know how many beeps it does before it starts over Also you can shut down the pwr this will reset it but if you dont fix the fault it will return

Most likely(50% of the times) Your Ice machine need a real cleaning. not just run clean cycle with ice machine cleaner. every 6 month call HVAC-R guys - machine will last half time longer if u schedule proper maintenance with them. I have seen It all: people try to call "friend", or someone who "knows" how this machines work. Real clean would take up to 3 hours for people who know what they doing.
