Sounds like the unloader (regulator). Try removing the nozzle, the pull the trigger with the engine running. If motor is still running then it could be the Unloader malfunctioning. If you require a new one try a bypass system for the unloader. The bypass will help save the life of the unloader.
If there is no water from you power washer it is because the is no water going in. Check fitting is connected properly. When you pull the trigger and the machine is not running you should get water coming out of the nozzle That shows that water from the tap is passing through the machine. As to no pressure that will be a fault in the regulator valve that is not reacting to the trigger setting and allowing the pump to build up pressure. It is still reading as if you haven't pulled the trigger
Your engine produces max horsepower at 3600 rpm. The engine throttle should be set to max before you pull trigger. Pressure washes generally do not have automatic throttle. You do not have to use max power, but enough power to keep the engine running when trigger is pulled. You washer will actually last longer if you only use about 75% of rated capacity. Good luck
I have the same problem with my craftsman - I hold the trigger open on the wand as I pull the start cord. I also put some Sta-bil fuel stabilizer in the fuel to help it run. You may have broken an O-ring if you started your washer without water hooked up - it only takes a second to bully that o-ring. If so, either find your manual or call the dealer to see if they have another one so you can copy or at least look at the manual to know the how and where. Hope this helps!
HELLO THERE: Here is some troubleshooting tips for you and a web link for you ok this should help best regards michael
Troubleshooting Your Pressure Washer
General points to check if a problem occurs
Are the engine and fuel switches in the “ON” position?
When troubleshooting, always check oil and gas levels.
The oil for the pump is a 30W non-detergent mineral oil. Do Not fill over halfway on the sight glass.
Is the water tap open?
Check the choke and throttle levers.
Is the correct nozzle in the lance? Is the nozzle plugged?
Only the black nozzle is for soaping at low pressure.
Is the water-inlet screen clogged?
Hold the gun trigger open while pull starting the engine.
Check for O-rings in the lance and quick couplers.
Has
the unit tipped over? Close the fuel switch and keep pull starting the
engine until the excess fuel is burnt up, then open the fuel valve and
try again. Some engines will need to be primed every time they are
started.
Make sure the engine is
turned off after each use. It should not be left running without use
for longer than 2 minutes as the pump can overheat.
Are you experiencing low pressure?
Is there an air leak?
Dirty pump valves?
Check for worn pump valves or broken valve springs.
Check for a worn out spray nozzle.
Check for leaks in your plumping or hoses.
Troubleshoot your nozzle, is it turned to the highest pressure setting?
Is the unloader improperly set?
Are the engine RPMs too low?
Check if your water supply is sufficient.
Check if your engine is getting enough power.
Trouble with high vibrations
Dirty pump valves?
Do you have a sufficient water supply?
Is there are in your water supply?
Is the inlet water filter clogged?
Clogged or damaged spray nozzle?
Make sure it has the correct fuel
Has the choke been left on after the engine has warmed up?
If the engine won’t start
When troubleshooting the engine, check if it's low on fuel or oil?
Worn or dirty spark plugs?
Is the switch in the off position?
Is the fuel valve in the off position?
Is the engine flooded from over choking?
When cold starting, was the engine properly choked?
If the starter is hard to pull
Low oil in the crankcase or pump assembly.
Oil or fuel in cylinders (hydro locked).
Pressure built up in the system, relieve this by squeezing the trigger.
You need to start the unit and let it run for few minutes to get worm, make sure the water is fully open and the unit is fully cleaned.Push on the trigger on and off for few times not letting the unit shutdown, then start increasing the fuel mixture ¼ turn and push on the trigger again and see…this could be that the unit need service or the governor springs getting week if you got one on your unit…let me know how that work for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we can improve on it with your help.God bless
the most comon problem with thease is a stuck bypass valve, this is the valve that alowes the water to bypass round the pump when the triger is closed, when they stick all of your pressure runs around the pump and not out of your nozzle,,
its located in the centre of the pump on the top, undo the 2 cap screws pull out valve greese and re fit
My Kracher 2500 pressure washer has no pressure unless I remove the nozzle. If, I remove the nozzle and pump the trigger several times and quickly replace the nozzle it works fine until I release the trigger. Karcher (online) suggested I remove and clean the unloader which I did. It still doesn't work correctly. What another solution?
