The dare needs to see it in a file labeled MY MUSIC. it will not recognize your music files if they are not in that folder. Just like videos have to be in MY FLIX and pictures in MY PICS. good luck

It might be the certain type of files you have on there. Are the files MP3 or MP4? Also it might have to much stuff on it. Let me know either way.

I had the same problem and discovered that files in folders within my_music are not recognized. You can simply drag and drop music files from the pc to the sim card in your computer.
It works... but for me what does not work is that phone does not recognize the songs Genre. Any clues on that?

When you put music in your dare. You must put it in MY_MUSIC, and your music file must be MP3 or MP4 ...

Good Look ! =D

I have a LG dare cell phone and want to transfer some pictures to my Laptop. Lap top is running windows vista 64 bit. when I connect the usb the pc does not recognize the usb connection. It recognizes all...

Well, for music...
Install the supplied software for your Dare on your computer.
In "My Music" select "Sync".
You can now see your Dare as a USB device but only music is accessible. :{

For photos the easiest way is to use a micro SD card and a card reader.
Store or move photos from your internal memory on your Dare to the micro SD card.
Transfer the micro SD card to your computer with either a built in card reader or a USB card reader.

The next alternative is to use a program like BitPim which can be a little tricky and can delete or copy all of your personal data (images, tones, contacts, etc...) depending on which button you press. The two buttons look very similar. Great way to download free ring tones and upload to your phone for free.

I cant transfer music or anything from my pc to my phone

Install the provided LG Dare software on your computer.
Using your USB cord, connect the phone to the computer.
Open windows Media Player.
Media Player should see your phone.
In the sync screen, drag music from your library to the sync column and then select sync.
This will copy the selected music to your phone.

Photos are easiest with a micro SD card, otherwise, you need software like BitPim.
Transfer photos to and from the micro SD card and the insert in your phone.

Getting songs from the sd card to show on my phone

To find your music on the SD, go to my stuff, sounds, external memory, mp3 and you should see your music. Playing it, however is another matter. You can play only one song. Then you have to manually play the next one. Not what I'd call an MP3 player.
