SOURCE: USB mouse not recognized

I have similar problem. 2 inland KVM's (both have PS2 inputs, one has USB outputs) do not light or recognize my usb mouse with a PS2 adapter. They do recognize a PS2 ball mouse on the KVM's however. One of the computers (Sony vaio 1.5 GHz) does recognize a usb mouse with adapter on 2 other KVM's (Old Belkin and a Trendnet) (the second computer I have not tried in those configurations). Next I will try an optical mouse with a PS2 fitting. That did work with a fifth KVM at an auto business last week.

SOURCE: mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Sounds like KVM has a bug. Maybe their website has a fix.

SOURCE: kvm switch is not detecting

this is not uncommon. many kvm switches cannot work with those types of wireless mice. the reason for this is due to connection codes. these mice require a connection to secure the use with each computer. you can attempt to do this with your setpoint software. located in C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPointP you will find the program CONNECT.EXE
run this to redo your mouse connection. i will however inform you that even if this works there is a large chance that upon switching to the next pc the mouse wont work and you will need to repeat this process with each pc switch everytime you toggle pcs.

rule of thumb. if the mouse is wireless don't use it with a kvm.

My usb receiver broke for my evoluent mouse. Is there a way I can replace only the usb receiver for this mouse or do I have to repurchase the mouse?

I'm afraid you'l have to repurchase a new set of USB dongle and mouse. Dongle of another wireless mouse is not compatible with a mouse not paired with it from babric.

USB Dongle for Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse 5000

My best advice: don't buy a wirelss mouse. If you want a REAL wireleess mouse, get a blouetooth mouse.

Evoluent mouse

If there are no screws on bottom then usually it snaps apart. Look for a line or crease at bottom plate (where they are joined) and use a sharp edge like a small knife and gently try to unsnap bottom plate from mouse housing.

Evoluent mouse keeps disconnecting.

You might try looking at this photo stream: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/austinhappel/10940723443/

Iwonder if the main cable/wire, which takes a 90 degree turn inside, under the circuit board, could be the problem. I pulled my wire/cable out from under there (after removing the board's screws), and un-crimped it. Currently trying it that way. Haven't tried the method in the photostream above.

My Evoluent 4 mouse doesn't work with WIndows 7

win 7 driver has stopped working
uninstal the driver for the mouse , find the web site for the manufacturer of the mouse , get the download for that model and compatibility with win 7 , down load and run
win 7 os is no longer supported by Microsoft so driver bugs and other glitches are not being fixed

I have iogear miniview kvm (gcs62) keyboard works but mouse conn does not. Mluse is usb mouse with ps/2 adapter. Direct connection via usb works. used to also work with adapter but having tried it with kvm...

USB mouse with PS/2 adapter is not guaranteed to wok with GCS62. This KVM switch is designed to work with PS/2 keyboards and mice only.

When the USB mouse with PS/2 adapter is used in a computer directly, it will surely work, because the USB port can give enough power for the mouse to work. And it can easily convert the signal.

Unlike in KVM switch, the switch serves as a bridge between the mouse and the computer. And the computer does not easily recognize the mouse.

I would suggest to use a regular PS/2 mouse. Or if you want to use USB keyboard and mouse, you need to have a USB KVM switch. Model GCS632U.

Thank you and good luck!

My evoluent vertical mouse 3 freezes

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the CD Software program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Not running on startup

I occasionally have a similar problem with a couple of my KVM?s and I think it relates to the circuitry in the KVM that is supposed to fool the PC into thinking a mouse/keyboard is attached. Windows doesn?t see the mouse so it doesn?t load the drivers unless you force it. What works for me is to just start the PC and switch the KVM to that PCs port and leave it there till the computer finishes booting. Then its safe to switch to the other port, probably not the elegant solution you were looking for but it works every time.

KVM switch mouse trouble

Does a mouse work if plugged directly into the laptop? Sometimes you have to change a laptop in the BIOS to allow a PS2 mouse in addition or instead of the touchpad. It may not be recognizing the KVM as a mouse. Try plugging the mouse right into the laptop and see if that works.
