Shortage?, no the vestax pdx 2000mk2 has shortage, the numark is not a well build unit from the. inside. I just can buy the ttx in store. Which is inside mostly oem%#}#%. Buy a te hnics , refurbish it yourself and tkake the kabusa straight/s-shape option, then atleast you have a proper tonearm and unit, but scewing arm together is very bad for your stiffness and the s-shape is very bad . Just but a s shape board and straight arm. You miss the accuracy and stiffness, which aint great on a te hnics also and the connection is a sad built for the money. I purchased half a year ago a vestax pdx 3000 mix and that unit is way better built then the the 2000 pro with the j arm
and it\'s new from the inside.
My mk-5 is also new, costing me 1000 euro and then i have a pgd. micro electronics. The average technics mk 2 is worn out stuf and a waste of money and the refurbished ones, ain\'t real refurbished. Buy a pioneer, then atleast it\'s new, with oem parts inside offcourse. Or you have to live in the netherlands and i can tell you what to need to need to renew on a technics, which are all caps, a lot a resistors , the two var resistors, tonearmcables and removing that stupid standard rca system and put nice rca\'s on a plate on it and the feet for new feet or just isokinets, since used technics have no usefull rubber anymore in the feet.

Unfortunately, the only way to access the tonearm is through the bottom. It's not that difficult, but you should be very careful when placing your turntable upside down to remove the base.

More than likely the drive IC (integrated circuit) has shorted, and needs to be replaced. Not an easy fix, and you'll have to take it to a service center for replacement.
This is a common problem on this turntable.
