I'm using MFC-240C Brother printer and its says that in LCD that "Clean Unable 46". It says in the manual that there's a mechanical problem OR a foreign object (e.g. clip or ripped paper). I checked it out but there's none. I tried to unplug the printer hoping the error message will be gone but still the message is still there after turning the printer on. Please help me with this problem. Thanks
Clean unable 46 means that the ink tank is full. You need a replacement tank installed and the count reset. This is a holder inside for the used ink, best to be a shop repair.

46 means the ink absorber box is full, it only costs around $10.00 to replace but you need to get into service mode to reset the counter. I'm not allowed to give out that info...
Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.
This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart,
try this step by step.without missing any thing.
thanks
Machine error 46 ("Unable to clean") means that the waste-ink "sponge" is full. If you've already checked for small paper part (which is very unlikely to cause this error message), the error is mechanical. Unfortunately, that's not something us users can change, but the machine would require to be sent to service. So if your machine is not within warranty, it'll most likely not worth the service cost, instead replacing it would be preferable.
