If you replaced an ink cartridge while Near Empty was displayed on the LCD, the LCD may ask you to verify that it was a brand new one. Example: Did You Change Blck? 1.Yes 2.No. For each new cartridge you installed, press 1 on the dial pad to automatically reset the ink dot counter for that color. If the ink cartridge you installed is not a brand new one, please be sure to select 2. WARNING If ink gets in your eyes, irrigate them with water immediately and call a doctor if you are concerned. If you wait until Ink Empty message is displayed on the LCD, the machine will automatically reset the ink dot counter. If the Install message is on the display after you have installed ink cartridges, check that the ink cartridges are installed properly.
While there may be ink in the cartidges, your printer is getting a signal from the cartidge that it's near empty. There is no real workaround for this; you just have to replace the cartridge(s). If you use a LOT of ink, you might consider installing a CIS (continuous ink system) now made for most printers. You will save a lot of money over time.
just clean the place where your ink is installed clean it with cotton and alcohol..try to reinstall your ink slowly and make sure it contacts properly..hope this works...ITTech7574

near empty message is a reminder: plz buy a new cart (but do NOT change until EMPTY). You still can print.
the ink left in an empty cart keeps the system alive when some ink is neede for the automatic cleaning cycle. If you print until this cart is really empty air will get into the tubes and ph. That leads to faulty printings. brother had made sure that the amount of printable ink can be consumed. The rest is for service.
I installed brand new cartridges.
