Gateway GT4010 will not start most of the time the fan just runs.

This computer is junk! Worst computer I have ever owned. Gateway customer service is totally worthless. I will never buy a Gateway again. I guess that they hear that so much that they just don't care.

Gateway GT4010 boots then starts beeping and shuts off

First check your power supply section and check your power fan that is running properly. if ok then the suspected area is your processor section. please check it if its collar fan nor running properly then clean up or change that. and the other advice is please check your processor pin which are too tiny. be careful about these.

Gateway gt4010, wont power on.

The fan turning off will be the cause of the PC shutting down.
This could be caused by a faulty fan or bad connection to motherboard.
1. try reseating the fans power plug on the motherboard
2. if that doesn't help, try replacing with new fan.
3. if that doesn't work then most likely motherboard problem

Gateway GT4010 power up

your problem sounds like its the power supply, a bad power supply will some times power the fans but the voltage isnt right to power the pc. you can get a tester for around $15 at a place like radio shack

Hey man hows it going

Have you test the power supply for voltage, Is it good, if it is then the problem of course is not power supply. Some power supplies have a light on them. Also does the power supply fan work, If not almost always sure sign power supply is gone. Old power supplies are still available Every time I junk a computer P4 or older I save to power supply, What wattage?

My computer problem

Remove and refit memory sticks, as you mention no beeps, so the memory may need re seating. From there it could be a processor or bios fault not starting up thr first 64KB of memory to boot windows
