HP w19. I had this monitor with my old computer and always had problems with the display which I was told had to do with my computer. But i recently got a new computer(just the tower) and kept this monitor to save some money. For the first month it worked perfect with a crystal clear display...now it is blurry and the picture is moved over with about 3 inches of black space on the left hand side, and is cut off on the other side. It has been switching back and forth between this and the picture being fully spread across the screen and the screen flashing black for about 5 seconds every 30 seconds. I have it set to 1280x1024 which is the only display it says is compatible...what can I do to fix it (i have heard that alot of people have had similar problems but havent heard about how they have fixed them)
I am wondering if the monitor is close to some other electrical device like a TV. Try hitting the degausing button if it has one. This is like a monitor reset button and removes stray magnetic forces from the monitor.
most monitors do have them amongst their array of buttons or on the rear might also be a pinhole, but be carful incase you touch a live wire
My; picture blurs sometimes. not 3 inches but only about 3mm. after months and frustration installing drivers, i reached up to turn it around to check if the plugs were tight, and the picture came to a fine focus. i couldn't believe it. just hit it
I think your computer is very close to some high tension electrical wire or transformer etc.
Change the position of your computer and let me know. Only after that i can suggest something.

crazy...I turned the monitor around to look for that thing and suddenly the display filled the entire screen. Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks!
