If this is a front loader see that u use only washing powder for FRONT LOADING MACHINES. Also possible your detergent drawer is clogged with old dry detergent. Pull out the drawer and clean with tooth brush. Things shd be fine.

SOURCE: Hoover 2305 washine machine wont spin

Your problem could be caused the interlock but it could also be that the machine is failing to drain in the time alllowed and therefore the machine will not spin, before buying a lock check the sump hose and pump area for blockages.

SOURCE: asko 10625 will not spin

it is probably the belt, take off the back of the machine and look at the black rubber belt that spins the cleaning drum. The belts break after about 5 years, you can get a replacement belt at you local Asko dealer, I recall that is was pretty easy to change, like doing a bike chain, Talk to you Asko dealer about how to change it.

My hoover 350m stopped at the end of the cycle but was still full of water. Could it mean a new pump or something else?

Could be just a blockage in the pump. Take pump off and clean it out. If still no drain then probably needs new pump but really needs pump tested first to make sure.

Just a basic one before you phone your washing machine engineer on the hoover the pump does seem to clog up very easily basic problems to which you wouldnt even guess what the problem can be.Your pump maybe blocked hair bobbles, money even pet hair can cause this.
machine wont drain or spin
the best way to fix this is too always pull down the front flap underneath the drum
Makesure you ave a tray to accomadate all the water in there if it is blocked there will be a lot anything that could be blocking it will be there.
Once any blockage is removed put the plug back in and test to see if the wash will work if it does problem solved and you just saved yourself £50 plus

I have a hoover nextra optima HNL 6166 that is not draining, it is full with water and clothes, I had checked the hoose and filter and they are clear.

Hello Sussana, remove from power supply and water hose / remove washing machine so your able to remove the drain hose then lower the drain hose to it's lowest point over a washing bowl or better still if you can get it to the kitchen door to drain off outside by just lowering the hose lower than the machine, once empty remove. remove the rear cover then you should see a small plastic bottle that's attach to the drum at the bottom remove the assembly from the drum and check that it's not blocked with fluff or any other debris also check the hole that it came from for any blockage in side ECT. there is a long from this bottle long thin going into a flat plastic plate type dish near the top of the machine this is a pressure switch that registers were the water level is make sure the that all the assembly is clear of any obstruction you can gently suck and blow this unit and you should hear an audible clicking to say it is working, once done reassemble and put back into position, and reconnect every thing, hopefully you found a blockage and that was the problem if not then sorry it's your pump that's failed, it's best to remove this at the same time as doing the above and check it out to see if nothing is jamming the pump impeller, you will be very surprised at time what can stop it a small button / hairgrip /string / ear buds even the odd coin seem to find their way there. Best off luck.AR

Flooding when spinning

Your drain may have a root growing into the drain and the water pump is simply too powerful for the drain to keep up.
Here is a cheap, fast and easy solution.
Buy some pvc pipe equal to the inner diameter of your drain hose and clamp it on with a reducing clamp to restrict the flow, then reduce more until the overflow condition stops. Sure beats calling rotorooter.

Washer not draining , the pump has been replaced and its still not draining , drained water hose in bucket, no blockage, is it the relay?

Check drain hose first.

If you do not find any blockage, then you will need to access the pump, remove pump hose and look for blockage in there.

If there is no blockage at all, then either the water level switch, a faulty pump, a wiring problem, or a faulty timer board can be cause the machine not draining.

Water not draing away and machine is not spinning

Empty your machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bowl or bucket. Then remove the kick plate and check the filter for blockages. Before replacing try the machine on drain to see if the pump is running, if problem persists there may be a blockage in the pipe from the drum to the pump.
