Kenmore elite HE3 problem code F70 - what does this mean

if its a Kenmore model then this message says that the button control board has lost sight of the main control board , but its been my experience that this maybe able to be reset and it may never come back or it will not reset and the control board will need replaced (50/50)

If your wire harnesses are OK, there is a possibility that you have a bad control board.

This is an overheating issue. The dryer needs to be cleaned at least once a year. This means pull the bottom panel off that is under the door and vacuum out all the lint. Then clean the outlet and duct work that it connects to. There are some other causes but that should take care of it.

Might be a2 things: Vent blockage causing overheat OR bad thermistor. Repair clinic shows how to replace it:

Hi.

F70 is an electronic problem. I expained detains in the tip below.

The tip applies to whirpool built appliances like this Kenmore:

F70 and F71 are two logic board error codes that point at a communication error between the main log

F70 is a "communications error" message and the first thing to check is loose wire connections.

If a loose connection is not found, the controller board will probably need to be replaced.

I have a Kenmore HE5 Steam: after a power failure last week, now when you turn the dryer on and push"start" the cycle stops emediately and flashes PF...

I've never heard of an F70 I have heard of an F07 which is possibly a motor controller error.
