If you are using the USB connection you'll need to check to make sure your HotSync is enabled for USB and not just serial port connection (the old default). Find the HotSync icon (red and blue arrows bent into a circle) in your computer's system tray (next to the clock) and right-click to bring up the menu. At the top you'll see "Local USB," "Local Serial," "Modem" and "Network." Make sure that there's a check next to Local USB. If not, just click on it, once, to enable it. Then, reconnect your Palm and activate the HotSync on the Palm (the star on the right side of the entry pad).

Let us know how it turns out, okay?

RIM BlackBerry 7100v Handheld(vodafone)

You need to download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

IPAQ 1950 suddenly will not connect to PC to allow sync

Same problem, on four computers with two iPAQ 1950's. I installed ActiveSync 4.5, and all works fine now. This link will get you to AS 4.5:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync-register.mspx

This SHOULD work for all PDAs, but I have only used it for the 1950.

Cable hot sync is always not going through

I had the same problem on the connection and it turned out just to be so simple as some dust/dirt in the connection surface for the sync cable. I fixed it by cleaning the connection surface with isopropanol. That helped.

Re: Tungensten C

It sounds like the Palm isn't properly getting charged.

Maybe if you can put something to hold it down on the cradle and let it sit there to get a charge for 1-2 hours, then it may power on regularly.

Sync problem

What are you trying to sync to on your computer? First thing you always want to check is to right-click on the Hotsync icon in your system tray (the little red and blue circular arrows) and make sure there is a check mark next to "USB"

Help active sync will stay in limbo attempting to connect to cradled axim

Does your system detect the handheld? After you connect the cradle or cable to the computer, then you should be prompted to install drivers for the handheld. Make sure that Dell Pocket PC appears in the Device Manager.
