My sony MHC-G2R7D setup video out shows black and white pictures, how to overcome that

if you are using composite cables (yellow,red & white), make sure your yellow (video cable) is into the yellow output. if you plugged the wire into the green on the back of the dvd it will give you a black & white picute. But if it is in the yellow then you most likely have a problem with the dvd player that will need to be taken to a service center.

I thing Shivi comments r wrong. Sony and most of the dvd player supports ntsc colour system for DVS and pal for vcd. Set ur tv colour system to auto or ntsc

Hi Allonsoma,

What the manual doesn't tell you is that you need to change the REC mode first to be able to fint the buttons in MENU.

Fist go into the REC mode (the one above menu when taking a photo). Change this to PGM and click OK. Now go into MENU, on the 3/4 page second button down should be a box with a + in the corner. This is the colour mode option. You can now change to vivid, sepia or black and white.

looks like a color system difference, check GV-A500 is PAL or NTSC.
