there is an upper hinge and a lower arm on each side. the lower arm is disconnected and I cant get it to click back in. I can move the arm but i cannot get it to lock into the slot. make sense?

I'm not sure what you mean. I am still able to open and close the door via the hinge however the lower arm is not connected. the door drops lower on one one side when closed.

did the hinge fold to the closed position?

  • dcshelper Nov 07, 2013

there are 2 style hinges on the doors. one has an arm thats about 4" long, the other has a short plate. they both use a small clip on the bottom of the arm that flips up to keep the arm and plate loaded (as if the door were open). you need to load the hinge by rotating the arms down, then flip the clip to keep the arms in the "loaded" positing. then install the door being sure the hinge is engaged in the proper orientation. push the door open and flip the clip so the door will close fully

Apparently a spring on my oven door is broken (DCS-RG-4844GG). On the large oven door, the left hinge has no tension in it. I can latch the hinge to remove the oven door for cleaning. However, when I...

Pull away far enough from wall to 'tilt' the whole chassis rearward to access the underside. Technicians use a 'jack' to raise stove....

DCS 30 inch oven door fell off

First thing is be careful them sprins are strong and will hurt your fingers bad if not careful. That said place both hinges in 1/3 open position they should stop there. if not put both all the way open then slide door back on and close. supposed to only lift off in 1/3 open position but whatever works.

Oven door hinges

It is tricky, it takes two people to hold door in place, put hindges into slots then fold downward towards the floor, the hinges will open all the way and it will snap back in.

Very Old Whirlpool "Wall of Fire" Gas OVen

what you have to do is get a couple of nails pull the hinge on the door down far enough to insert the nails in the holes and let it rest against the door this will hold the door at the proper angle to engage the hooks inside the hinge slots on the body of the range grasp the door on each side and insert the hinges in each side to engage the hooks then open the door all the way and remove the nails

tough but you need to open the door all the way stick a small screw in the hole on the side of the hinge that is still on then partially close the door this will alow for you to remove the door and then you can push open with your hand the other hinge and stick a screw in the hole on the side this will keep the hinge from closing on you then reinstall the door
