Reinstall the drivers and install the modem drivers first seach the modem driver by device manager and install it then browse your media that you are using to install that modem driver and after that you will slect the modem name which you are using and install it

This status could be caused by the volume limiter inside the unit thus causing static, thus you will need to have it repaired. The cost of this repair ranges from $50-$90 bucks depending on the actul cost of the part causing the interference,

i would suggest that the first problem was related to the myspace system if all her friends tried and got the same result as a precaution though i would run a virus checker through just to make sure your pc hasn't been infected hope this helps regards Jim
i had the same problem and i just now figured it out.
go to ur profile so that ur looking at ur music player and in the top right corner of it there is a volume tab. turn it up and it should work:)
i felt so dumb when i figured it out
i guess it turns it self down after so long or something.
FYI the volume control on the keyboard takes precedence over windows controls. It doesn't use the windows sound mixer but uses its own program. Try to hit the mute button and see if that gives you sound, if not try turning the sound all the way up using the button and then all of the way down and then all of the way back up. Doing this sometime fixes that issue with Thinkpads. And if it still doesn't work hit the mute button again.
