SOURCE: my radio on my82 honda goldwing dont have sound

There are several possibilities. First, if the clock and cassette door are affected, it is a low voltage feed issue.. bad connectors, corroded terminals, etc. This voltage feed is from the 5 amp fuse in the very bottom of the relay box to the right of the main fuse block (i.e. not in the main fuse box).. clean check this fuse... If the low volume is FM only, it is internal to the radio.. in this case, another symptom is that the search/seek feature never locks on a station.. Typically this is a problem with a component on the board.. only place I know that works on them is Sierra Electronics in Troy Ohio, but others probably exist..

sounds like a wire has been added the wrong way or wires have damage, switch could be the culprit. Does the kill switch work? I would be checking all wires and the conectors for heat damage (melting).And fuses for all circuts. if low beam is used does key work to stop engine?

the key needs to be on to set the clock, and the radio may be set to headset or muted, Use the key to remove the radio clean contacts and try that.

SOURCE: how to replace a headlamp on a 1985 honda goldwing

Hello,

I see that your question is six months old and you probably have had it answered already. I will post the proper procedure for you just in case no one has helped you.

To remove the Headlight assembly, you will need to do the following;

1) Rotate the rear view mirrors 90 degrees so that the mirrors are facing up and remove the bolts holding the mirrors on - you will need to remove both mirrors.
2) Remove the windshield trim panel by placing a shop cloth over the slot between the windshield and the headlight unit. Insert a wide flat blade screwdriver into the slot and very CAREFULLY lift up on the screwdriver. This will unhook the latch from the holder on the fairing. You now should be able to remove the trim panel.
3) Remove the louver trim panel below the headlight lens. This will give you access to the bolts holding the lower part of the headlight assembly (remove them and pull the headlight assembly forward and slightly out of the front fairing).

NOTE: there are screws holding the headlight adjustment cable mechanism to the headlight case - these will have to be removed to take the entire assembly out. Next disconnect the headlight connector from the headlight lens unit and you're done with the removal process.

Install in reverse order.

Hope this helps.

1985 honda goldwing 1200 oil seems to be leaking from timing belt cover thinking maybe crank shaft gasget?

Most likely it is a valve cover gasket. There is a cam seal underneath the cam belt timing gear that is easy to replace (I have replaced two of those when the same leak appeared.The seal is part #28. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1985-honda-gl1200i-gold-wing-interstate/o/m2346#sch18022 Worst case scenario the crankshaft seal has begun to leak. It is easily replaced once you have taken off the covers, belts, and center belt sprockets. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1985-honda-gl1200i-gold-wing-interstate/o/m2346#sch16246 The seal is part #13 http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1985-honda-gl1200i-gold-wing-interstate/o/m2346#sch17585
