You need to return it for a replacement while it is new. Try returning it to the store for a replacement first. If they won't replace it, contact Nikon. Never try to fix a brand new item. It will void the warranty.

Nikon cameras do not have a reset button. Nikon cameras are reset using the Menu selections. Press the Menu button. Scroll to the wrench icon and press the right arrow, find the selection "Reset All" by scrolling down and press the OK button. This happened on mine once and I had to do a hard reset by removing the batteries then restarting...

As soon as the camera memory access light stops blinking, and you can't switch of the camera, remove the battery. After a few seconds reinsert the battery and switch on the camera again.
