No,is it not.It a repairable tv.The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.The tv colors lines R,G,B mis alignment,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike.The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors too.These parts on the tv convergence board,must be replaced to solved the tv picture convergence problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Getting coloured vertical lines on screen on samsungtv .sometimes no picture
Model LE40A656AIF is a 2008 model LCD TV that was discontinued by Samsung. Since Samsung quit making LCD TVs in 2011, I believe that yours is starting to fail. Since repairs on a discontinued item can cost nearly as much as it originally cost, I would suggest getting a new TV.

Got given a Samsung SP42Q2HL and only one scaret input works properly the other 2 are dark in colour when using them all so can you connect up a hd sky box upto it using the component inputs?
The protocol for scart sockets is, Black in colour = all pins connected and both in and out are supported. Blue in colour = only video in and audio in connected.
If you wish to use RGD, if the tv supports it, use the black socket. Some support S Video input.
Component inputs are not supported with scart as a general rule.

My boss has a cracked screen on his Samsung DLP Model #HLS4266WX/XAA. I'm trying to get pricing for him, and when I contaced one company they are quoting me a price of 637.65 and saying that the Fresnal...
My Samsung parts source (tritronicsinc.com) shows that either screen would cost $180 plus shipping, but neither screen is available from Samsung any more. If the company you contacted actually has these, they may be your only option. Hopefully, the costs that you are being quoted also include installation.

I have a samsung sp42q2hl, which on the front of the tv say's it is a hdtv ready, and yet i cannot watch high defenition images or movies, also there is no hdmi inlet at the back so i'm not sure how you...

Use component to connect this will give yu HD picture,
On the back of the set you will see A group of 5 phono sockets Blue, Green, Red, These carry picture,

Then Red, White, these carry stereo sound.

You need to replace both convergence ICs. You need two ICs STK392-040 you can get new replacements at the following link and they provide free instalation instructions with pictures on how to do the repair yourself. Heres the link.

The cost will depend upon the model of the set. I would suggest that you purchase the service manual which will contain all of the specific instructions on how to replace the glass. You can find this using the model number and the keyword "manual".

try to adjust the green blue red lines .the green moves up and down but the red blue just moves side to side not up or down .replace the blue crt tube and when I went to adjust the i hear a pop .I got the repair manual and the tv did not have that maget x looking thing rings that slides on the tube that gose to the top on the blue tube ,not the thing thats wrap in copper.

how do i reset convergence on rear projection samsung hx-p4241w please? hi i had convergence issues on my tv and used the menu choice to fix the problem which did little to fix the issue. then i used the mute-1-8-3 method and 7 8 9 to select R G B, 4 to select moving part a line, full line or the whole matrix. which was nearly perfect.  however the "matix" is not perfect and in little areas is just a touch wavey, in one corner very wavey. is there a way i can set one colour of the "matrix" back to factory setting and then move the blue and red to fit it so everything is symetrical and straight? many thanks
