There is no such paper for copiers that I know of in 18 years. What you can do is try to run some blank pages throw the copier. This can tell 2 things if the line gets lighter in may be in the fixing ***'y and the upper fusing roller is shoot, needs to be replaced and or if it dose not clear up you may need a cleaning blade for the drum(OPC) and or the drum and blade as a set. It depends on how old the parts are? You may need to replace all 3 items and a general cleaning. Here is a idea for you are you running LTR or LTR-R you may be able to switch the paper arould to avoid the line all togather. Good Luck.... You may need a service call on the copier. With the age of the copier I might just go with the cheap fix first.

Sharp calculator EL-1801V smears ink on paper. Why?

There are some ideas in the link. Check that the ink roller hasn't become dislodged and is dragging on the paper. Also check that there is no torn paper in the gap between paper and roller that has soaked up ink like a wick..

HP Lexmark 4050N Printer is smearing pages with faint ink mark.

This is more then likely due to an old or bad toner cartridge. Away for you to find out is to run a test print and if you listen close you can hear the paper advancing through the printer. It might take you a couple times but try to catch the paper at a point in the printing to where it would be just passing by the toner cartridge and ope the top cover. Remove your toner cartridge and pull the paper out. But becareful when pulling the paper out to not rip it or get toner on you. The toner has not yet been bonded to the paper yet until it passes the fuser at the back of the printer. If the paper shows the smear just after the toner cartridge then there is the issue.

Best of luck... And have a Happy and safe Holidays..

I have phaser 8400 with 40k page count. I am getting a mark on page about 6 inches from top of page and 1/2 inch from left margin. Sometimes it is a faint blur 1/4 inch wide and 1 inch long. Other times...

Run Remove Ink Smears from the Troubleshooting menu. Try running the jetfix snippet found on Xerox website under downloads. It sounds like you may have a defective printhead telling it to spit out some magenta ink at the wrong time.

Black ink smears everything.

you may have to clean the print head. since the jam cause the smear, and there still have some ink left on the print head.
you wouldn't get aclean copy till all of the ink trace are gone.

Printer leaving smear marks on paper

Are you using genuine Canon ink carts?? The cheaper "pattern" carts often use lower grade inks that don't dry as quick.

Also try feeding two or three blank sheets through the printer to clean the rollers and guides.

Prints roller smear marks

Laser printers do not use Ink. The problem is most likely a defect on the drum, which in this model printer, is part of the toner cartridge. Replace the black toner cartridge with a known good one and test.

Black smear of ink at end of lines

Please load the printer with at least 10 sheets of plain paper then press the start button. This will dry or clean any ink found on the rollers.
Continue to run blank pages through the printer until no more ink is found on the paper, then attempt printing. If ink stains, streaks or smudges are still present, the printer may need service.
