I have a 2001 convertible mustang and my dash light were my gas gauge is and my speedometer are that light is out and I was wondering how I go about replacing it? Is it a fuse or a bulb? And I need to replace the fuse for the convertible top.... So if anyone knows which fuses these are I would greatly appreciate your help.. Thank You.
There is a 20 amp circuit breaker located in the fuse box in the inside of your vehicle. It's in the number 43 position (see picture below). I hope this helps you and good luck.
Interior lamps are powered through fuse # 7 and is a 15 amp fuse. It is located in the interior fuse panel. The lamps are gounded though ground # G400 which is located in the left rear cargo area.
The fuse for the power windows is a 40 amp. fuse in the fuse/relay box located under the hood on the drivers side of your vechicle.
It's the first top fuse (position 12) next to the relays.
To see a fuse block diagram go to this FREE Ford website and download the owners manual for your vechicle. It's location in the manual is "roadside emergencies" page 136. https://www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/default.asp
There is not always power onevery fuse in the fuse box. These days you may find that a circuit is fused on the load side of a circuit such as your headlamps. The fuse for components such as this will have the power coming from the switch, through the fuse and out to the component. In c case such as this the fuse will not be powered until the switch is turned to the on position.
IT is probably a fuse. Does it work at all? my mustang had a busted cylinder and only 1 side would go up. If it doesnt work at all then check your fuses. With no manual you will have to use a flashlight and shine on them and see if one is blown. IF they all look good then I would go buy a testlight for about $10 and manually check the fuses for power. It oculd be the motor, however that will cost you several hundred dollars and that is if you install it yourself.
