We bought our Tomtom in the UK toward the end of August 2007. Used it successfully there, in France and now in New Zealand. Lately it's been suddenly "dying" and doesn't go again until it's had a rest. Then however, it's likely to give crazy directions. Any suggestions - or are there any repair places which will repair under warranty in NZ?
Bought in the UK? youn need to turn it upside down to work here and pull the wool off its eyes when in NZ
check that the battery is fully charged on AC before running it on DC. That can give you erratic directions if not fully charged and coinstantly dying. The pull is greater than the reserve charge input.
TomTom Claim ww warranty but its not quite true! The only place in NZ is Auckland from memory and it ould take up to 30 days.
Are you now resident or still touring?
if resident it mightr also be cheaper to buy a new and reliable GPS U would recommend an Altina 801o with NZ Maps of the latest rtelease by Polnav. $AU290 + reg post of about AU$15 tyuep Marbella Australia into your browser and take a look at the products. Service is excellent and so is the support.
