I washed and dried the bike and then replaced the passing (aux. lamps) lamp bulbs from stock bulbs to the next brightest (bright white) HD bulbs. After changing the bulbs I started the bike and checked the bulbs, everything was fine. 2 hours later after the sun went down I wanted to see how bright the new bulbs were. I turned on the ignition switch and nothing happens. Main fuse? But why would it blow? never had this problem before. Any info would be appreciated.

Check the battery connections. Remove, clean and reinstall them. You probably had them off doing the wiring and they aren't making a good connection now. Always remove the negative first and install it last.
SOURCE: blows ignition fuse when key is turned on
Look for a grounded wire on the ignition switch or a break in the wiring leading to the fuse. Wiring system on motorcycles are a close system with only the battery being grounded to the frame. Any loose connections or breaks in the wires that will allow the current to jump to the frame with cause you tons of fun.

I have had the same problem. Been throught two batteries, new cables, checked the fuses 999 times. It only starts every now and then. You must take a wrench and get the positve cable just right and it will start for a week or so then back to the same thing. You would think after building motors for so long Harley could at least make a bike that starts.

The turn signal switch also sends a separate on-off signal to the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) control module, which relays the signal to the appropriate front turn signal. The front turn signals are grounded at G101 and G102. The rear turn signals are grounded at G401. The sidemarker lamps are grounded through the corresponding front parklamp.
The sideview mirror turn signals are a bank of LEDs placed behind the mirror glass.
The hazard lamps operate on battery voltage. The HAZARD fuse supplies battery voltage to the turn signal switch. When the hazard switch is pressed, the turn signal switch sends battery voltage to the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher, which sends an on-off signal to the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch send the on-off signal to all the turn signal lamps, causing all the lamps to flash including both IPC turn signal indicators. The hazard lamp/turn signal flasher is grounded at G200.
When the parklamps are ON, the sidemarker lamps receive voltage from the park lamp supply voltage circuit and illuminate. The sidemarker lamp is grounded through the corresponding rear turn signal. When the turn signal switch is place in the left or right hand position, the rear turn signal illuminates and the sidemarker lamp will loose its ground, causing the sidemarker lamp to turn off when the turn signals are on and to illuminate again when the turn signal is off.
Which blub an socket did you replace ? check the other blub ? The switch and or the flasher module can cause this problem .
Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

Which
Make sure the headlight switch is off and the ignition switch is in the lock position.
Unfasten the screws retaining the lens, then remove the lens.
Disconnect the bulb socket from the license plate lamp by rotating it 1/4 of a turn counterclockwise.
Remove the bulb from the socket.
Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the headlight switch is off and the ignition switch is in the lock position. Disconnect the bulb socket from the license plate lamp by rotating it 1/4 of a turn counterclockwise. Pull the bulb from the socket. If necessary, remove the lens retaining clip and the lens from the filler panel. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make sure the headlight switch is off and the ignition switch is in the lock position. If necessary, lift the lamp up and tilt the bottom away from the bumper to release the lamp retainer. Disconnect the bulb socket from the license plate lamp by rotating it 1/4 of a turn counterclockwise. Pull the bulb from the socket. If necessary, remove the step bumper pad, the screws that attach the lamp to the bumper and remove the lamp assembly. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the lamp assembly-to-bumper screws to 14 inch lbs. (1.6 Nm).
