If the green on light blinks all the time and there is no picture or sound, does the LCD lamp need to be replaced?

The set was working and then went dark. After trying to power it back on, the green on-light keeps blinking; no audio, no picture. Shutting it off, gives the usual steady red light. The manual says that another light below the usual on-off light, red, would blink three times if the lamp is faulty but that light does not go on. Could it still be a faulty LCD lamp? Is it worth my taking out the lamp and holder to inspect it for "life?" Thanks.

Make sure that lamp door is fixed securely and pressing lamp door switch as 3 times blinks shows lamp door switch is not On.

This is a common problem caused by a busted bulb. Please replace the bulb of your TV set.

Please check any red light blinking on tv front when tv shut down after green light blinking?
If red light is blinking, is it Standby red light? How many times it blinks after 3 seconds long pause?

In regards to my Sony KDF-E42A10 I heard a pop and the picture and sound went out. The green light just blinks and there is no picture or sound. What could be the problem?

I disagree with info given by expert.
Pop sound would be broken lamp in tv, take out lamp from tv and check it, replace it if found broken.
Usually lamp got broken at end of its working life span.

Please check lamp in tv as pop sound seems broken lamp.
Did you replaced lamp in last 2-3 years in tv? If not, then its lamp that got broken and tv needs new lamp.
Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual and its easy, please buy Sony original lamp for good picture in tv.

WD-62525, continous amber lamp light. No picture. Lamp is good.

Hello:

Make sure u replace the lamp cover as the safety switch need to be closed to make the set work. If new lamp did not repair your problem , then it may well be the Ballast Board, Sometimes call the Lamp Driver.

Picture goes out after 3 seconds then may come back on then off again

Hi,
If green light in front of TV blinks while picture goes off and comes back then its symptom of weak lamp that need to be replaced.
And if green light does not blink in above process then let me know.

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.

The color wheel needs replacing. Thats causing the whining and it will also make the lamp light blink.

No sound, or picture, just replaced lamp and it work for 2 min...

CPU(Central Processing Unit) I.C(Integrated Circuit) of your TV needs to be reprogrammed or come to worst needs to be replaced (if the CPU I.C. part number is available in electronics parts store) by a qualified electronics service technician... hope this help ;-)
