I dont have a option to move any games to sdcard. And sd card mounted is constantly showing on tablet.

Not all apps can be moved. The app developer can block their app from being moved.

My pad says the internal storage is almost used up...I inserted an sd card, but not sure how to get the tablet to read it so that I'm able to install more apps and games.

Good afternoon Linda!

You can view your manual here
RCA RCT6077W2 Manuals . If you go to page 10
RCA RCT6077W2 User Manual Micro usb Headphone Micro Sd it notes a couple of important caveats on the card:
  1. You can use MicroSD or MicroSDHC type cards
  2. Size limit of 32GB
  3. You are warned never to insert or remove the MicroSD card in 'On' mode (i.e. only insert/remove the card when the tablet is off)
Aside from that, it looks like things should work. To be sure on what is the root of the issue, you can:
  1. Insert your card into another device to verify that it works
  2. Format or Re-Format the card - the SD Card association has a formatting app here:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4

  • Make sure the card is legit. If it was purchased, for instance, off of Ebay, or other not-so-top-tier online store, as likely as not it's a fake made in China, likely with guts from manufacturing rejects. You might, for instance, get a card marked 32Gb that actually has a 2Gb chip in it with a hacked controller that says it's 32Gb. It'll seem to work OK for a few files, and at some point will just write your files into no-where. SD Insight, a free checker app for Android phones can be picked up here
SD Insight Confirm your micro SD card authenticity instantly amongst many options.

Hoping this helps!

How do I use my SD card for internal storage?

There are a quite a few options.

  1. Open Terminal Emulator and check with the 'df' command, how much space is left on your partitions. Is /data or /system full?

  2. Goto system/apps/all > 'Sort by size to' find out which apps eat

    up the most space.

  3. Check if you have big size apps installed where you could change data location within the app to sdcard. Thinking of navigation apps and games. Every app where you have to download additional data to the actual app.

  4. Make sure you use the sdcard for media like photos (camera settings) music and video.

  5. CM has a built-in system to move apps to SD under settings/apps/on sdcard. Check apps that are big and you use rarely and are not interactive first. Reason: If you still use the USB feature those moved apps are not available to system anymore and are least likely to cause trouble.

  6. Another option is to use the app Foldermount. Use it to move certain locations to SD like the Download folder. Or the DCIM folder if the camera doesn't support sdcard location in settings.

  7. Use the app Link2SD which is able to move every bit from an app (including app data) to SD. It has a good overview on how much space an app really needs. You will have to create a separate partition on the SD card for that to work.

I broght a new sdcard and my tablet is still saying insufficient space....What do i do to get some more space..

Download and install a utility app that cleans the tablet's internal storage. You can also move your music/video/pictures/audiobooks/ebooks, even some apps from the tablet's internal storage to the SD card.

Can't get apps to remain on sdcard after firmware update

They probably are
still on the SD card, but the apps directory index was overwritten in the main memory. Also, the app data is usually stored in main memory, so you would still loose your data settings part.

Read card on a computer and see if you find .apk files on the sd card. they may be hidden files. but you can not recover the data settings part unfortunately.

preventative backup is always the best. If they are google apps, make sure you backup to google in your google account settings
use your carrier backup to cloud for phones.

How do i keep my nextbook 8 from resetting itself to the factory setting everytime i shut it off

Happened to me today. Fix: Boot it up and go to Settings > Backup & reset > Factory Reset: Check the Erase SDCard Data Box. Make sure you backup all your important information to the External SDCard first using Astro or something. Enjoy your fixed tablet after rebooting again and going through the Wizard for the Last time.

I am trying to get a video off of my Archos device and onto my computer to burn it onto a CD how do I get it off?

Download ES File Explorer from the app store, link your Google Drive and upload your video. You can now download using any computer by downloading from your Google Drive account. Your video may be in a directory called /sdcard/video/ or /sdcard/media/.
