If this is happening on the entire system, then make sure you have the number of lines programmed correctly. If this is correct you may have a bad processor card. If this is a happening on an extension only, then the port/card may be damaged I would temporarily move the extension to another port on a different card and see if the trouble follows. If it does you have an issue with the phone not the port/card.

Error 346

There are a few causes for the errors you are getting...

The remote machine has failed to respond to a fax command from the local machine because the connection was interrupted. These errors can occur if the phone lines in the area are old or if noise is present (static on the phone line). Other reasons could be power outages and other power-related problems.
OR
The call waiting service can cause this error. The click, heard for an incoming call, is actually a momentary disconnect of the line.
OR
The remote user has pressed the Stop key while the reception was in progress.
OR
Under rare conditions, incompatibility between the two machines can cause the remote machine to simply abandon the call.

And here's a few things to try...

*Reattempt the fax reception at a different time when telephone line conditions have improved. Call the telephone provider if line conditions fail to improve.
*Disable the ECM. Errors might still occur, and might result in a degraded image quality on the received page. However, the ability to transmit the entire document will be improved.
*Try sending at a lower transmission speed.

On incoming calls rings once then stops then person calls again comes thru. also after talking sometime u can hear the system dialing? there are 7 phones in the house one has the FWD light on? could...

The first symptom of an incoming call ringing once then stopping is called trip and ring which is caused by a partial short on the phone line. The second symptom is called crosstalk caused by the two phone lines being shorted to each other. The service provider is most often the cause of these troubles. Often this type of trouble happens during wet weather or shortly after. The third symptom of static on the line cna also be caused by the same conditions. All three symptoms are likely caused by the same trouble from the service provider. Advise you report the trouble to your service provider.
