SOURCE: Reseting the protection counter at Epson 1400
You will need to google using the keywords:
"adjustment utility waste counter epson 1400"
There are some utilities available but all come either at a cost or as part of a kit. There is currently not freely available utility (SSC is not yet compatible).
Hope that helps.

The free SSC utility which will reset the waste ink pad protection counter in most Epson inkjet printers can be downloaded from
http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml. Remember though, if you don't change the ink pads, there will be an increasing danger of ink leakage from your printer, particularly if you tip it up for any reason - VERY messy, and it can clog up your printer mechanisms.

Hi,
The simplest way to do this is to grab a copy of the A10_IPR utility that Epson distribute to their customers...
The utility is available to North American customers if you register no this site page http://www.epson.com/ipr/
The utility is also know to be available in the wild if you search for "waste ink ipr".
Just remember to scan any download using a virus and malware scanner before you attempt to use it as some utilities contain trojans or similar nasties.
Hope that helps.

Hi
Many problems regarding Ink with Epson relate to using cheap ink consumables. I recommend you buy original Epson black ink catridge. I know its more expensive but you should see the black ink clear.
Be sure to run head alignment and clean printer option first with the current black ink then replace with the new original Epson ink catridge
Thanks
Andy

You actually need to change the ink absorber.
Heres a video on how its done on the R800.
Please refer to your manual for proper localization of the ink absorber.
Doing this will get you to move on
