SOURCE: Need help locating a box to make my TV receive true HDTV

You Dont need one your set is HD. So when the switch happens you are good to go. The only TVs that are going to need converter boxes is those who do not have HD or only have antenna.

Your Hitachi 43FDX01B is HD-Ready, which means it has high definition capability, but it needs an HDTV Tuner added to it. DTV converters can only give you Standard Definition resolution. You can browse HDTV Tuners Now for the different types of HDTV Tuner that are available.

SOURCE: is my Hitachi 61uwx10b ultravision hd ready

This TV will need a converter box. It was made in the days before the digital tuner was required on big TV sets.

Just remember the converter is only needed if you get off-the-air reception with an antenna for local channels. If you have cable or satellite and get your local channels that way, you don't have to do anything. The change to digital will not affect you.

If you are now using rabbit ears or an old worn-out outside antenna, you might think about upgrading your antenna when you get a converter box. Signal strength is very important with the new digital broadcasting. Too weak a signal means no picture at all or one that freezes up or turns blocky. The antenna that worked for analog may not be adequate for digital.

You'll probably get 480p if you use a cable box using the RGB outputs from that and plugging them into your RGB component input on the jack panel . You won't get 720p on that set, but you'll wind up with a clearer picture than regular RF. So, your answer is no, you won't won't get it without a box if your using an air signal.

How can I switch from digital to analog?

If this is a CRT then you do not have a choice to get digital over analog. It is an analog TV. You can get what is called a scan converter to convert a digital signal to an analog but you will not be viewing a digital signal. To view a true digital signal you need a digital tv that has a resolution of 720P or higher. Most TVS are 1080P standardize which is the most common.

How do I switch from anaLog to digital as Samsung TV now showing week or no signal but has been working ok for some years on digital now seem to have switched to analog

Most Samsung tv's change from analog to digital (and vice versa) by entering the same channel number you're watching at the moment, again. If that doesn't help, check the manual for detailed information.

How to switch from analog to digital

The LED LCD TV's came out in 2009. It already has a built in digital HD tuner.

Allen wants to know how to switch the TV between the built in analog tuner and built in digital tuner.

Switching between the two tuners is done by means of the "TV mode" switch on the remote control.

You will NOT be able to select analog channels if have NOT done analog tunning.

If you need to do a retuning then hit the "menu" button select "setup" then "plug and play" enter the default pin number 0000. When you are selecting the channel source to memorize make sure you select "digital and analog". This will then cause the TV to tune and memorize both the analog and digital channels.

For details refer to page 8 of the user manual.

Do I need a converter box for a Sony KD-27FS170?

When a TV hasn't digital tuner, it's necessary to add it a digital to analog channels converter box, but your TV already has digital tuner, you can switch between digital and analog tuning by pressing the digital/analog botton on the remote control.

Do i need to have the bose system turned on in order to watch tv or can i have the cable box bypass the bose receiver? I do not wish to use my bose for everyday tv. Thanks

If your TV has its own speakers you don't need to have the Bose turned on for Lo-Fi watching. Not knowing what your TV has for analog and digital inputs or your Cable Box has for analog and digital outputs...

The LS V20 has 3 analog inputs plus a Tape Loop, so you could have the Cable Box (not the TV) audio; and two (or three using the Tape Loop) other analog sources. NOTHING should need to route to the TV first. The Bose should get the audio from whatever you're watching directly from that source.

If the Cable Box has only one analog audio output available but the TV has a digital one

Since an analog audio output can be split you could 'share' the cable box audio with both the TV and the Bose. Digital audio may also be possible between the Box and the TV.

RCA TV with Guide Plus that no longer receives guide at night

Please clarify what you are getting. Is the Guide Plus coming up with no programs listed? If so, it may be that you lost power and the set has to be turned off overnight to "reload" the program schedule. If that is not the problem, have you recently changed to digital through a digital receiver? You need to have your analog antenna connected to receive the program listings. You may have to install a splitter to have both the digital antenna and the analog antenna connected. I have an RCA with Guide Plus and ran into the same problem, but solved it by reconnecting my analog antenna and leaving the set off overnight to reload.

Look to see if your remote has a button with A/D on it. That is the button to press to switch back and forth between the analog and digital tuners.
