Sidekick 3 white screen

My phone was working and suddenly the screen went white. I turned it off...took the battery and sim card out. waited a few minutes and replaced them..it worked for a few minutes and returned white.. Now nothing appears but the white screen. when I turn it on I can hear it going through the functions but I can't see anything. Is there a way I can personally resolve the problem or at a very low cost.

i can turn it on but its just the white screen whta do i do to make it work again

Did you by chance drop the phone recently?

A loose cable for the lcd can cause this or a bad lcd.

You need to disassemble it to take a look.
Sidekick 3 Disassembly

You will need a set of Torx screwdrivers to get it open.

Call T Mobile Technical Support, advise them of the problem they should send you out a replacement device.

The screen on my T-mobile Sidekick 3 went white.

You need to reseat the LCD cable. More than likely it has come loose in the back of the LCD

Unlocked sidekick 3 won't get past "waiting for activation"

Press the top left button and "L" key at the same time to by-pass that screen and allow you to use the regular phone functions.

The sidekick 2008 does not turn on !!!

The same thing happened to me today. I tried removing and replacing the battery and SIM card, then waited a few minutes and tried again. After this didn't work, I called T-Mobile and the lady, Shawn, told me to check the small box to the left of the SIM card. If it's red, you have water damage, and you need to order a replacement. But your Sidekick does have a warranty, just make sure to call them and order a [free] replacement before your warranty expires. Glad I could be of help. :)

Unlock Sidekick ID

I found this guide online.
Please let me know if this works!

"1) Insert the ATT SIM card into the back of the T-Mobile Sidekick ID (it should be located behind the battery).

2) Turn on the Sidekick ID, wait for the screens to load.

3) When the screen says "Waiting for Activation", hold the top left button (the "Menu" button with the three lines) on the Sidekick ID and hold the letter "L" on the QWERTY pad at the same time. After a few seconds, let go of the buttons.

4) If Step 3 is done correctly, the Sidekick should be directed to the jumpscreen and display all of the Menu's of the Sidekick ID.

Is the screen white or black?

If it is white you may be able to fix it, black maybe not.
The following instruction for a sidekick 3 but it is the same for a sidekick ID. Just reseat your lcd instead of installing a new one.

Sidekick 3 system crash

ok the exacct same thing happened to my phone... what i did was i kept taking out the battery, and seeing if my phone would work. there r few things that can happen everytime you take out the battery aand put it back in:
-it will show the menu button (the bottom left button on your phone) in black and white
-itll show the red x again
-the backlight might or might not turn on
-itll start up and work normally
these things will happen everytime u restart ur phone affterwards, and, usually, ur phone, even if it starts up, will go really slowly and eventually freeze, forcing u to repeaat the battery cycle.

after a while, it became worse, but, after fdoing thte battery thing over and over, it finally started up, and took me to a reboot screen, where it showed me a tiny clip art pic of a sidekick with a =P face that was broken. then it showed me the reboot screen, asking me if it wanted me to reboot, and, afercliking yes, it starteed working again

My sidekick3 screen is blank

If your sidekick ID or Sidekick 3 screen is a blank white, then the lcd flex cable has come loose. It is a little difficult to repair but any one can do it. The worst that will happen if you try to repair yourself is that it will not work and you buy a replacement screen from ebay for 45 dollars.

Here are the detailed instructions. Just reinstall your lcd instead of putting a new one on.
