When changing a wheel one must remember to reinstall the shaft key, or the wheel will not be secured to the shaft. The shaft of the motor is turning but wheel is not.

SOURCE: hoveround mpv 4 goes in circles!

I had the same problem. There are circuit breakers under my seat, one of them had opened. (It was a push button type and was popped out further than the other.) Under the seat, near where the cables all connect. All I had to do was reset the breaker. I know what caused it. I was making a tight turn, and one tire was very low and over loaded the motor.

Bad connection on your motor. Bad connection on one of your batteries. Or a motor, or the controller / board has failed. all can be tested.

Hoveround Teknique XHD had a flat changed inner tube put back on now the motor spins but the tire stays still

The shaft is turning and not the wheel, that means the key is missing off the shaft. or the freewheel lever needs to be flipped into drive mode.

How to change the tubes on hoveround tires

You are much better off just buying the flat free drive tires with the wheel attached for @ 55 each. With that being said, the wheel will separate it takes a lot of elbow grease, a large flat head screwdriver and patience. Be very careful not to tear and/or stretch the tire bead and resist the temptation to spray lubrication of any sort to separate it. Again, call Hoveround or look on ebay and order two with the wheels.... you will be glad you did..

Jazzy Select GT only goes in circles

You have one motor in free wheel. Which ever direction the chair is going to circle, place that motor back into drive mode. Depending on your model, the lever is gray and located just behind drive wheel or, is yellow located in the front under the seat.

How do you reverse polarity on left tire

I'm thinking you mean the whole chair goes in circles right? If so, and it's spinning to the left then you have a problem with the left motor. First thing to do is remove and inspect the motor brushes. There are two of them on each motor and you can find them by locating the small black plastic circles with slots in them. Take a flat screwdriver and unthread the plastic disk. Then use the end of the flathead to pop the brushes out. The spring should be silver and pliable. The black head piece should be clean without a lot of debris and the wire should be a shiny copper. If they are dirty, clean them with a q-tip, also clean out the hole into the motor where you took them out. Reinstall and see if the chair will run. If not, replace the brushes and retest.

Hoveround operates only in circles

You may either have have a bad motor on one side or one of the keylocks/keystops holding the wheel on the axle has broken. Check to make sure that both of the manual brake levers are in the UP position (inside the opening above the footrest, between the rider's ankles).
If it is a motor that needs to be replaced, they run around $600 plus labor, you will need to contact Hoveround to register the power chair with the serial number (found inside the manual brake opening above the footrest) and make an appointment for service.
If it is a keystock, they can be mailed to you from Hoveround for just a few dollars, sometimes for free if there happen to be some laying around the call center.
Have someone watch you operate the chair, or tip it backwards to raise the drive tires up so you can see if both axles are turning or not. If one axle is NOT turning, you have either a blown motor or possibly a connection to the junction box has come loose, which would be indicated by blinking lights on the controller. If both axles are turning and no lights are blinking, then most likely the key stock has broken and the drive tire just cannot lock on and get a grip.
I hope this information is helpful, good luck!

Hoveround mp5 will only go round in circles right wheel not working all fuses checked and ok on batteries new batteries

It sounds like the right motor may have died and will need to be replaced. If the axle is not turning at all but the fuse is OK, then the motor has gone bad. If the axle is turning but the wheel is not catching, you may just need to replace the keyway/keystock that the tire locks onto.
To replace the motor you must contact Hoveround; they are around $600 plus labor unless your insurance will cover a portion of it. The keyway would be less than $5, if anything.
I hope this information is helpful to you, good luck!

Chair will move forward and backwards OK but either will not turn or will go around in a circle very sharply

one of the motors is bad or has bad connection. try raising the chair so the drive wheels are off the ground (free-wheel) turn power on, push joystick forward and watch for drive wheels to turn. the one that wont indicates a bad motor or connection.

Hoveround rear tire needs inflating

I don't think you have an MPV4. That model has 2 rear caster tires that are solid and require no inflation. The front drive tires have a valve stem sticking out of the center rim that is easily accessible. Make sure your power chair is gray and says Hoveround on it.
