Hello, may b your other harddisk mite hav sum errors in it. Hope its detected in windows, bt not accesable.

Try booting with any linux live CD (google "puppy linux", its just 90MB approx) and connect the harddisk. Now access ur harddisk from linux. If u still cant access it, then u should format it.
if it works in linux, then backup all ur improtant data and format it wit NTFS. Ur prob shud b solved!!

I am using segate u series ST340810 hard disk. when I am formatting this hard disk this hard disk does not shows partition to format and shows messege of disk cannot access what should I do?

Hello Ravindr,

After connecting the Segate Hard Drive in your computer go to Control Panel. In Control Panel you will the option Administrative Tool. In Administrative Tool open the Computer Management and you will find the number of attached Hard Drive and the Partitions they have. If the Hard Drive you have attached is not showing the partition then there may some physical damage with the Hard Drive media. Please get your Hard Drive checked by Segate professionals and then replace the Hard Drive with new one.

I have purchased the lenova laptop in which th Hard Disk is from Hitachi and my data is in the Hard Disk how can i get back my data

You can use an external Hard disk and transfer your data.
If you want to transfer it exactly as it is, U can remove the Hitachi Hard Disk, put it in a hard Disk case, and use it as an external hard disk

The hard disk is connected to a PC but can not detect.when it is connected to detect that something has been taken by attaching a USB port.i have Western Digital 500GB external

Try to hear if the hard drive is spinning. If yes then open Disk Management. 1. Open the Control Panel 2. Open Administatice Tools 3. Open Computer Management 4. Choice Disk Management.
Check if you can see the hard drive there if not is probably dead.

My computer says that the hard drive is not inserted correctly.what do I do

Open your computer casing and look for the ribbon cable attached to your hard disk drive and motherboard. Unplug the ribbon cable from the motherboard and hard disk drive. Then put it back again the cable and observe, if the problem is still the same. Next part is to unplug the ribbon cable from motherboard and hard disk drive and observe for the sound comes from your hard drive. Try also switching your ribbon cable into another IDE ports.Normal hard disk drive usually have a normal sound but the defective hard disk drive have a mechanical noisy sound. Have a good day.

My computer's hard disk seagate 40 Gb is damaged but it will show in bios set up . how can i recover my data back plz tell me.

The best way to recover your data if you cannot boot up your computer. Remove the hard disk and attach it to an USB hard drive adapter. Plug this adapter into a working computer's USB port and this computer should see this as an external storage device. You can then open the folders and files to backup/copy, provided the hard drive is not faulty.

How much is the maximum capacity of hard disk in p4vmm2 motherboard

Motherboards do not have hard disks but you can attach hard disks to them. Most motherboards allow you to connect several hard disks of various sizes. Most home computers only have one hard disk.

Open your computer back up look for the hard disk(s).
The capacity of the hard disk is usually on its label.
If not, you can look it up by the manufacturer and model name on Google to determine the capacity.

Depending on the size of the disk, 1 or more GB of the total capacity will be inaccessable because it is used to format the disk. (e.g. Windows might only "see" 28GB of 30GB disk.)

If this helps please vote for my solution.
