Switch the stop button

Try holding the stop or esc button for 10 to 30 sec and let go when you hear a long beep.

Be prepared to have them call you at home: they do not like giving information on how to work around a password issue to a possible "crook".

Your DVR hard drive might be defective, replace the hard drive and reboot the DVR.

Unplug everything and plug it back on, the camera power supply. now if it keep beeping go into you system and reformat your Hard Drive call them USA Telephone Support: 1800 627 2799 they have very good tech support 24/7 even if your dvr is old....tekgods

You may be experiencing a bad hard drive situation.

depress and hold the rewind button (<<) on the remote (or on the panel)until the units beeps.
It may take 20-30 seconds. or you may have to do it severalk times before you hear the beep. Once the unit beeps you should be able to get to the menu using the remote or the faceplate button.
Please note that the remote is infrared so the sensor on the faceplate is sensitive to where the remote is relative to the sensor on the faceplate.

Swann DVR8 NET-PLUS not detecting 2tb external HD.Is there a capcity limit to backup drive size?A usb thumb drive is detected with no problem.
