I could hear voices that I thought were outside, but as I moved toward
the sound realized they were coming from my powered-off television. It
sounds like religious radio programming (yes, this is a humorous situation).
This is a Magnavox, Model #27MS343S, about 6 yrs old. It's hooked up to a cable box with Comcast's Digital package.
I powered the TV on and off again several times just to confirm, and
sure enough 2-3 seconds after it's powered off the sound begins
emitting softly from both front speakers.
Could this somehow be a perfect match of frequency and just enough power to occur? Very strange.
I just did a test by unplugging the cable box and DVD player power cords, the coax and the auxiliary cables from the back of the TV.
At that point, with only the TV plugged in and powered off, I could still hear the radio (pretty sure it's a religious radio show with no commercials that I could hear).
I unplugged the TV power cord and could no longer hear the radio signal; plugged in again, the signal returned.
So it seems to be solely a problem (feature?) with the TV.

Bfsas1: My last update didn't answer your questions.
We've been here about two months, I haven't noticed this until today and AFAIK nothing has changed. Pretty much everybody is away at work during the day (I'm working from home).

about the only easy possible thing would require taking the set apart and looking where the display panel connects inside the set==a loose or open plug is about the only simple thing.
Hi, Try moving your computer to a different room. If you have florecent lighting it will have some effect or you are too close to other electronic such as TV, heating system etc.. Good luck
Usually with a noise-canceling headset, it might block out most noises, and varying to the quality it might or might not work with people's voices. Normally, there is a small switch on the headset themselves to start emitting a kind of "white noise" to cancel out the outside noises. The headset might cancel out noises that YOU hear from the outside, but it doesn't guarantee that through the mic.
I don't think there is software needed to be installed. I would look a bit more to the instruction manual to see the precise specs on the headset.
Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is XL-2200.You can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Sony-XL-2200-TV-Bare-Lamp-Bulb-p/sony_xl-2200u_a1601753a_lamp.htm?Click=48173 Have a blessed one!
Hi, I have the same problem. I called the service provider, they left a voice message, which I accessed later and deleted from my voicemail box. This took care of it and I dont have that message on the screen now. I think you can just leave yourself a voice message and access it later and delete it. That should resolve it.
You might have a cap that shorts after it heats up causing your problem.
The whinning sound you hear sounds like the power supply has a short on it.
Usually when this happens though, it doesn't go away until some part such as the horizontal output transistor is replaced.
RCA's are notorious for flybacks shorting and then shorting the horizontal output transistor.
Your flyback may be shorting intermittently.
Strange!
