Question about Sanyo Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Sanyo button doesn't open door on cassette player (System 560) the cassette tape was stuck inside & I popped the latch on the cassette door open except the button doesn't work to open door - also the tape rewinds & fast-forwards but doesn't play - when it had been working before the tape was stuck. Also the (right) bass speaker doesn't work & I've tried reconnecting the wires to test the connection & it still doesn't work.

SOURCE: tape stuck

The only thing you can do, is to try to open it up very slowly.
The thing keeping the door closed is the tape that is probably wound up around one of the drive pins (silver pins),
Your tape is most likely ruined unless you know how to splice a tape back together.
After getting the door open, I would take a Q-Tip and some rubbing alcohol and clean the silver drive pins and also the pinch rollers.
This should help reduce the jamming problems if there isnt any other problems causing the drive pins to not turn. IF the pins are not turning, then it could be a broken belt problem.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Sony CMT-HPX9 has top slide tape deck and door will not open/slide.

If the cassette door/slider on your Sony CMT-HPX9 stereo system will not open, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the release button: Make sure that the release button is being pressed properly and that it is not jammed or stuck. If the release button is not functioning properly, the door will not open.
  2. Check the door lock: Make sure that the door lock is not engaged. Some models have a door lock switch that can prevent the door from opening.
  3. Check the tape inside: Make sure that the cassette inside the deck is not jammed or stuck. This can prevent the door from opening.
  4. Check the mechanism: Make sure that the mechanism that opens the door is not damaged or jammed. If the mechanism is damaged, the door will not open.
  5. Check for debris or dust: Make sure that the cassette deck is clean and free of debris or dust, as this can cause the cassette to get stuck and the door not to open.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting a professional technician or Sony's customer support for further assistance.

I have an Aiwa Surround Sound Theatre system Model #cx-nmt720. Has a 3 disc player, am/fm, and 2 cassette decks (one on right allows recording/dubbing) Everything works great except cassette...

The unit may be damaged or may just need adjustment- only a tape deck technician will be able to answer the question after seeing the unit. To answer it remotely like this, is really an impossible task.

STUCK VHS TAPE

If you know how to do this open the latch on the cassette when it stops and look to see if something got spilled into or on the tape itself.

If the unit only shuts off with this tape the cassette is the issue.

If you open the door on the tape (little square button to release the door also look (happens if you use same tape a lot and fast scan with it) to see if the bottom edge of the tape has curved waves in it--should be perfectly flat with no ripples at bottom edge of the tape.

A cassette has jammed inside my vcr machine. It will not move forward or backward Can yoy please help

Hello,

Since the tape won't come out then it means you will have to manually remove the stuck tape. This involves you disassembling the unit in order to help/assist the player get the stuck tape out.

Turn of the unit and remove from the wall, get a Philip screw driver, use it to remove all the screws from the unit and take it apart.

Open the cover and you will see the stuck tape and what's hooking or preventing it from coming out/ejecting.

Now plug the unit, and turn it on. Press the eject button, as the tape tries to come out, support it with your hand so that it can come out.

Or if it happen that the cassette tape has coiled inside the unit, carefully free the coiled tape and the press the eject button.

Lastly, the moment you disassemble the player, you would see what's preventing it from coming out, then you can free whatsoever that is making it stuck press the eject button and the tape should come out.

Make sure the unit is turned off each time you want to remove what's making the cassette stuck.

I hope understand the above explanations.

Good luck.

Tapes stuck in the cassette and dooes wont eject on both sides

I hate to say this but you may have wrapped the spook around the player inside. I have not had much luck opening jammed doors that result from spooled up tapes.

Sony Dual-Deck Cassette Player/Recorder, doors won't close

Are both sides not staying shut? If it's only one side, look to see if the latch is broken. You should see an arm move when you press down the eject button - while the door is open, press the eject button and see where the arm moves. You should see a hook that catches the door and keeps it closed. It could be broken, or just jammed. Look at the other side of the deck and see it it looks like it's working the same. Unjam the latch arm if it's stuck, or replace it if it's broken.

C:32:11 message flashes, cassette eject won't work, camera doesn't work

Just had this problem myself... called Sony. Here is what I did to fix this:

1. Turn off power
2. Open the LCD Display
3. Press "Reset" with paperclip/pen
4. Unplug ANY wires connected to the camcorder
5. Eject battery
6. Plug in DC charger
7. Power on
8. Attempt to eject tape
9. At this point, the metal tape holder comes out but refuses to open... slightly "close" the portion of the camcorder that has the button to eject the tape, and then open it fully again (you'll hear a click, this signals the device that the 'hatch' is open and to eject).
10. The metal door *should* pop out and allow you to withdraw the tape.

I've tried 4 different cassettes and about 2 seconds after hitting play, I get the error every time... my solution: Not going to try to play my tapes on the camcorder anymore... will find another player to play Hi8 MP cassettes. Unknown if able to record to tape as of yet.
