Olympus u820 image distortions colour and form

My olympus u820 started to have problems capturing photographs. While browsing the camera menus the image is fine, but once in photograph mode, the image on the screen appears with running stripes, distortions and mixed colours with an effect like if looking through a rainbow. I can not find a pattern in those distortions though. Every picture has different stripes, colour mixtures and form distortions. Once taken, the picture has the same distortions that appear on the camera screen at the moment it was taken. The camera has not fallen and I have no idea what is wrong or how to fix this. Sometimes after off for a while, the first pictures are ok and then gradually the distortions start becoming worse, as more pictures are taken. Have already done reset to cameras preferences and it did nothing. Hope you can help me. Thanks

SOURCE: Camera lens faulty

This is a CCD problem.
It is possible that free replacement could on the card as there has been a recall on certain cameras of all makes in the past because of a faulty batch of these components used commonly.
Contact Olympus with the problem - you may get lucky

remove the card and see if you still have the same problem... if so then repair. if not then it is the card

I have the same issue, Although My camera is a samsung N46, It was working perfectly the night before, then my friend switched it on and it came up with a black backround and pink + purple vertical lines going through it.

Olympus X-42 less than 2 yrs old, hardly used. When switched on to take a picture I get a series of coloured (pink, purple etc.) vertical lines on the LCD screen and when I take a picture, the camera...

If the lines are on the images when viewed on the computer then its likely that the cameras sensor is the problem. This is a tricky part to get to as its the heart of the system. Might be time to get a new camera as replacing the sensor will be far more expensive ($150-200+) than a new camera. I had a look on ebay and they are going for less than $50 as they are an old camera now.
Ive replaced my Olympus with a Sony Cybershot W830, 20mp and 8x zoom, direct from Sony for $150.

i think that for the E1 you should have the fl 36 ore the fl 50
look in the camera manual it probaly says that you can't use the fl 40

reset the camera back to factory default using the menu. Put camera is p mode, menu, custom reset, custom reset, ok, yes,ok

Unsatisfactory LCD preview display

Some times user doesn't care product category thats why I asked model number.
Now, problem is bad CCD imager in DSC-T3 and this part will be replaced to bring camera in business.

Part number of CCD imager is as follows...

A-1075-408-A CCD BLOCK ASSY (Supplied with CD-535 board)

Its available in Part Store and if you have expertise in camera repair, you can do it yourself, it is easy job.

Distorted images

There has to be something wrong with the firmware in the camera in order for that to happen. You could take it into a camera store but I have a feeling the cost is going to be too high.

I couldn't download the manual from the website either.

Your DSC-F88 has problem with CCD Imager and needs to be replaced. Good news is Sony will replace it free of cost. Click Sony Official website to get further instructions. Hope this info will helpful for you.

Sony Camcorder PMW350 not viewfinder picture from camcorder port. Sony PMW350 camera has no picture viewfinder from viewfinder port. The viewfinder works well as tested on another camera. I have looked at schematic and there is a Small board HN-358 in between the viewfinder port and main boardDPR-313.Could it be that this HN-358 board is faulty?
