go to www.whistlergroup.com and click on manuals. The 1430 is an older detector that was made back in the late 90's.

SOURCE: Motorcycle Laser Detector False signal

This is a power noise issue caused by alternator whine. There are two solutions. First, you could try wiring the RD's power directly to the bike's battery terminal. Or you can get a snap-on RF filter which is available at your local radio shack. Loop the RD's 12V power wire around the snap-on RF filter two or three times and then snap the filter closed. The RF filter is simply a ferrite choke. It should block the alternator whine sufficiently to stop the laser falses. If the RF filter doesn't do the trick, then you will need to get a noise filter from a car stereo shop. The cheapest one will do, as long as it says that it will attenuate noise by 30dB or more. Come to think of it, a car stereo shop could have a RF filter installed on your bike in less than 20 minutes. So perhaps that might be the way to go.

The 2270 is a very old remote radar detector. It has been replaced by several units over the years. Whistler's latest remote model is the Pro-3600. Call Whistler at 800-531-0004 about their trade in program to update the 2270.

I have a brand new whistler laser radar detector , i received as a gift quite a few years ago. its never been used, is it worth anything?

that model was last sold before 1999. It still detects all the same radar but it will not detect POP radar. For more info on POP radar check out Whistler's radar FAQ page at www.whistlergroup.com

You can trade it in on a newer model by contacting whistler at [email protected]

Whistler 1783 detector shuts as soon as it goes thru start up mode. seems to get very hot to touch.

Try the factory reset - hold in the power and quiet buttons, while holding in these buttons plug in the power cord. Unit should beep twice. The unit will get warm to the touch.

Do batteries have to be replaced if so,and when. On whistler 1675

Model 1675 is not a battery powered unit so there is nothing to replace. What is the unit doing that made you think that batteries need replacing?

Have a whistler 3000, and power is going to the unit but no lights are visible and unit seem to be working

First this is not a Whistler model, its a Fuzzbuster model. Does the unit 'Beep" when you turn it on? Does the lights flash during this time as well? If so, then the unit maybe working but not picking up signals.

Whistler 1480 does not power up.

Does the lighter socket power other devices? If so, did you check the fuse in the units power cord? Its in the plug part that goes into the lighter socket. Its a 2 amp fuse.
