I have a Hitachi 57 inch tv and it periodically goes to black and white. I can move the tv, hit the sides or pull on the AV connectors and then the tv goes back to normal color. Is there something loose inside? Is this something that I can fix on my own?
I thought that too. I have tried several different cables. right now i am trying my dvd cable in the component 2 slots. This happens not only while watching cable tv but also dvds and with my wii.I thought that too. I have tried several different cables. right now i am trying my dvd cable in the component 2 slots. i took the back panel off, and the VHF/UHF piece on the back of the set, has no connection to anything on the inside of the set. looks as if something was ripped off of the VHF/UHF, on the inside. i cant find a wire or panel inside where it may lead to.i took the back panel off, and the VHF/UHF piece on the back of the set, has no connection to anything on the inside of the set. looks as if something was ripped off of the VHF/UHF, on the inside. i cant find a wire or panel inside where it may lead to.

You'll need to check all the connectors that you unplugged, make sure they are plugged in to the correct place, plugged in well and no pins bent over etc, Probably should also check any connectors that you did not have to unplug just to make sure they didn't get pulled while you were getting to the color wheel.
look on the back of the television and the DVD player, there should be a SCART socket and/or red, white and yellow AV sockets, either use a SCART lead and connect it to the SCART on the DVD player and the TV.Or use an AV lead with 3 auxiliary shape connectors and match the colour of each connector with the female sockets on both the TV and the DVD player instead of using the other component connections.
Offhand, your Philips 32PFL7422/98 do not have regular Audio Output RCA jacks (white and red), sorry. However, right before the antenna connector is an S/PDIF output connector. This should allow transfer of digital audio signals from the Philips 32PFL7422/98 to a S/PDIF capable receiver or amplifier. If you would look at the rear of your stereo and determine if it has such an input, then it would be a matter of getting the right cable/connector.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
Sounds to me like an audio 3.5mm jack to L-R phono leads. The single jack connector would need to go into your pc's line-out port on the soundcard and the red and white phono connections on the other end go to either your television or home theatre system.
Which sounds like a loose connection in the video or chroma section. you can carefully tap around affected area with a rubber screwdriver handle(not metal part) and see if it does come and go and look in that area for loose connections that needs soldering back. Hope this helps
