Are you using ide or sata connection? if your using sata conection between your motherboard and harddrive, you must enable it in your bios, just reboot your pc and keep pressing F2 while its booting to prompt your bios. There you can look for IDE/SATA configuration. After enabling your sata, save any changes before you exit and reboot... Just give it a try...

Sound problem and slower

At 53% your cpu is working too hard. Turn off unecessary startup programs. You can do this through msconfig.Turn off the "C" drives indexing. Check for conflicts in device manager. Make sure that you have the correct and updated sound driver for your audio card.
