I read on the Casio website that this is due to an impact, meaning, the camera must have fallen or hit something really hard and strong.

Lens error 2 indicates that there is something wrong in the lens assembly. One possible damage concerns the image stabilization mechanism.

I also own a Casio EX-V7. My sister dropped it so hard that a dent has appeared on one of the front corners. Everytime I switch on the camera on record mode, LENS ERROR 2 appears for a few seconds.

Despite this, I can happily use the camera as usual. However, it's just annoying to see the Error.

I'm planning to bring it to a service center within a month from now.

i had the same problem when i went to casio they told me it was the battery so ibought a battery when it did not fix it i got my other digital camera switched memory cards now it works fine so i guess i'll be buying a new card on the bright side the memory card worked fine in the other camera and now i have an extra battery which i got from sourcing map for $8.99 my only complaint was that it took almost a month to get here but was still $30 cheaper than wal-mart

i worked as service engineer on life support equipment for 15 years but alas my cannon g10 with above symptoms didnt make it back together .... never start without a manual to assit you ....adrian
