it might not be pointing to the correct DNS....check what your DNS is using command prompt.....the command is either "netstat"  or "ipconfig /all"

SOURCE: how do i add the printer the dlink dir 628 router

The DIR-628 does support a USB printer. You need to download the appropriate shareport version from dlink http://www.dlink.ca/products/?pid=DIR-628&tab=3.firmware

If the printer drivers are already installed on your PC you should be ready to go.

SOURCE: dir-300 dlink router asking to reset to factory after installatio

there's an easy way to reset your router back to its factory setting... inspect the physical appearance of your router... there should be s small hole.... inside that small hole is a reset button

How to reset? ..... while the router is on...Using a small pointing object, much better if you use a paper clip..... insert the paper clip to the hole... press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds...

That's it your router will restart itself and the settings is back to its factory settings...

Hope that help you..
Much appreciated if you rate this help... thanks

My router is not in range.the lights are just flashing

the lights are flashing... uh-oh... is that the right power cord? example 5v .5A on both bottom of router and on power adapter.

if it is the right cord may just be a stupid moment I find if you hold the reset button to set a router to factory defaults then set it back up exactly the same it often fixes weird problems.

if it is the wrong cord your router may be... well... fried. logic chips in routers are very sensitive.

good luck

I have a DLINK DIR-628 and - starting a few days ago, one of the websites that we visit every day is no longer available. I am certain that it is the DLINK since I have hardwired to the cable modem and...

do a flush dns by going to start > run > cmd
type ipconfig /flushdns
contact your ISP and have them try and ping/traceroute the website your trying to hit.
it could be their dns server is broken.
you can also try changing your dns to 4.4.4.4 which is google's dns server and see if you can reach the website your trying to get to.

I want to instal the d-link dir-628 but i dont have the cd

You don't really need the CD to install the router. This link will take you to the DLink support page for your router. If you have lost your user manual, click on the link for "Product Manual" and download it to your computer, then unzip the compressed file to read the PDF manual. It will explain to you how to use your web browser (IE or Firefox or whatever your use) to set up your router.

Hope that's helpful.
