Question about Pioneer VSX-521-K 5.1 Channel A/V Receiver
I have the system completely installed and all cables and plugs are secured and plugged in. I have a smart Blu-ray player(Phillips bdp-2175) and a Motorola DVR for Comcast cable. I also have a Belkin Song Stream Bluetooth receiver plugged into my Pioneer receiver. Both, the Blu-ray player and the Comcast DVR are going through the Pioneer Receiver via HDMI cables and one HDMI cable going from the Pioneer receiver to the TV(Vizio E601i-A3) My Comcast cable Motorola DVR is working perfectly going through the Pioneer Receiver, but I cannot get the Phillips Blu-ray player to pair with the Pioneer Receiver, as I get "no signal" message on TV and HDMI is blinking on the front panel of the Pioneer Receiver. I have tried everything I can think of including unplugging and resetting all components, hard resetting all components, trying different settings in the Pioneer and Phillips setup menus. I know the Blu-ray player is working fine with the TV, because I can bypass the Pioneer receiver and run the HDMI directly to the TV and it works fine. The handshake between the Blu-ray player and the Pioneer receiver is my problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I would love to watch a great Blu-ray movie using my new Bose Acoustimass 6 series III Surround sound system. Thank You!
Have you tried to connect the Philips direct to the TV's hdmi?
Could be the resolution on the bluray is set to 1080p which may be out of range for the receiver or even the TV for that matter. If you can reset the output resolution of the bluray to 480p first, just to establish a picture then try 720P which all HD tv's and receivers can handle.
I did a quick search and could not find the resolution reset procedure for this unit. Other units will reset if you press and hold 2 or more buttons together.

Possible solution: You set up your remote to run your amp from the TV control, using the AQUOS Link. Even though your amp is out of the loop, it's still recognized by the TV. You might have to reset the TV back to default and run the AQUOS Link again.
