What is a cellphone IMEI number? - Nokia 3310 Cellular Phone

Cellphone?? If so there is a IMEI number its registered to which ever company it was originally under. The only possible way would be to unlock cellphone, if possible aka Jailbreak, and register under a different cellphone company. That "Serial IMEI" is no longer valid under the cellphone company which your friend had "aquired" the cellphone from originally.

IMEI numbers are not for batteries they are UNDER the batteries written on the cellphone and they are used to track cellphone not BATTRIES

Contact the nearest nokia care center and give your IMEI number to lock the cellphone. Also keep the billing details ,because sometimes they will ask for the proof for checking that the cellphone really belongs to you. If,you have a sim card inserted in that cellphone, also try locking that SIM card by contacting the service provider inorder to safeguard from misuse.

take the rear cover off and remove the battery.. it's on a little sticker inside there

To unlock your Motorola L6,first you have to represent your IMEI number by giving the code *#06# in your set or by openimg you battery,inside the you'll get the IMEI number,then you have to show your service network.
