If your system is prompting you for the Power-On Password there are a few things you can try.

First - remove the Battery and the Power Cord. Next remove the RTC battery. Leave all of the batteries and power off/unhooked from the computer. Next, press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds while there are no batteries or power cables attached. Then allow the computer to sit for at least 5 minutes without the power sources. Finally - replace the RTC battery and then plug in the power cable. DO NOT PUT BACK IN THE MAIN BATTERY YET. Power the computer on and see if the password has been blanked out.

If the power reset fixes the password, then you can put back in the main battery and go about using the computer.
