Powered Nokia 5800 off and then back on but only white screen app

Phone was taking a long time to send sms so I powered it down then back on. When it came back on, only the initial white screen with the Blue NOKIA words appeared but it would not get past this screen. It will also not power down without pulling the battery. There are no Nokia service centers here. Is there anything that I can do to reset the phone?

Try removing the micro SD (memory) card. Then turn on the phone and once the phone is on and working fine, insert the memory card.
It worked for me. It seems to be a problem with the memory card or with some application that doesn't allow the phone to boot up.
See more possible solutions at this page.

My nokia 5800 wont send any message even to balance inquiry.

Please go to your sms settings and see carefully how many sending profiles are there and also note their MAX times and MSG CENTER NUMBERS.
Now delete them all. Restart your handset
Now enter your correct MSG CENTER NUMBER and also please try MAX Validity to Maximum/unlimited or 1 Hour. And post your error if not accomplished. And if you did it. Please give me some credits (VOTE HERE)

My 5800 always hang when in nokia screen after i reboot please help me

Take out the battery, take out the micro SD card, put the battery back in, turn the phone on, and it should work. Then put the micro SD card back in. Go into Settings then Application Manager, and uninstall apps that you installed recently, particularly the Garfield game. Then check if that fixed the problem.

Which is best phone for typing?

Hi,

If i need to compare out of Nokia 5800 and E72, i definitely go for E72. You could type it much better than 5800. I always feel typing on Qwerty pads are much better than typing on Touch Screen. Also, regular use of 5800 for Chat, Typing, Games would result in More wear and tear of Touch Screen and i hate spending on touch screen after every year.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Sending message fails

Guyz i have got the solution, just update your firmware of Nokia 5800 XpressMusic to the latest version by connecting your phone to PC with data cable (PC Suite must be installed on your PC from the CD you have got in your Nokia box)

Simply run Nokia Software Updater and let it do its work. after completing update just restart your phone and try to send SMS.

I have solved my problem this way. Hay SOX thanx a lot for your kind concern BTW.

Unable to send text messages on my new nokia 5800

All you have to do is go to your message setting on your phone:
1. Open Messaging
2. On New message sellect options at bottom
3. Open settings
4. Open Text message, you should see: Message centre, message centre in use ect..
5. Open message centres this should go to next screen then open again, this screen should have : Message centre name & Message centre number (from your network provider you need to find out what is the message centres name & number are e.g in Australia it should be SMSC1 and number is +61411990001) then just manually enter these in there.
