What to do about fleas on baby kittens 8 weeks old.

I am worried about using flea poison because if it kills a flea (and they're really hard to kill, it can hurt the cat, especially a baby. When I put Frontline plus on my big cats, one got a bare spot where it was applied.

I used to put mineral oil on the kittens. I massaged it into their fur and left it about 15-20 minutes, then i gently washed the kittens in warm water. Helped a great deal until they were old enough to treat.

I suggest calling a veterinarian about flea control for the baby kittens and the bald spot on the cat.

spread garden lime all around the yard to kill the fleas
next use a flea wash on the dog
use a flea destroyer spray in the house and wash all dog bedding and mats that the dog lays on
Take the dog to a vet and get a needle to stop that reaction and while there make sure that it is fleas and not mites

Can i use cypermethrin to kill fleas in my backyard. fleas are breedig and the dogs suffer.

Sounds dangerous with pets around.
could steep sprigs of fresh rosemary in some water. Use to spray dog, it keeps fleas away and in non toxic.
rosemary in supermarket fresh produce section.

How long does it take for frontline to work

It takes about 24 hours to kill the fleas. In the meantime, vacuum your house really well and when you're done, throw the bag in a plastic bag and put it outside into the trash can. If you have one of those vacuums that have a wind tunnel thing, empty it into a plastic bag, outside, and leave it out there in the trash can until trash day. Fleas can live about 30 days without eating. You may need to spray your yard to kill any fleas out there, and also spray your house. If you have a bird, be very careful and maybe let the bird stay with a friend for a few days. Good luck. This is a very bad year for fleas.

A general insecticide will probably drive it away. If you don't want to use poisons, try dish soap in a windex sprayer, diluted a lot. Bugs hate Ivory liquid, I think that's the one used to kill fleas in dog shampoo.

How do I get rid of fleas in my house?

For starter, cut up a flea collar and put the pieces inside your vacuum cleaner. Vacuum thoroughly, including spaces between and under couch cushions, under furniture, and in closets. Seal the vacuum bag in a plastic bag and get rid of it promptly. To deal the deathblow to larvae in carpets, use a special flea powder. Keep your cat out of the room and vacuum the carpet the next day. Throw bedding, seat covers and any other washables your pet touches into the washer at least once a week. Wash with the hottest water possible and some flea shampoo that works against both adult fleas and eggs.
