SOURCE: karcher HDS 750 HOT HIGH PRESSURE WASHER

G-day Mate.

Did you check if the igniters? they may be cloged up with ****. Unscrew the Sight glass on top of the boiler and run the machine (in cold or hot mode, doesn't matter, as the igniters are running all the time) and see if there are working, you should take them out anyway and give them a wipe with a rag as general maintenance item, and when you put them back in there should be about 5mm gap between them.

Less common reasons for the boiler to not work
- Faulty fuel solenoid valve, (You should hear a click sound about 5 - 10 seconds after you pull the trigger)
- Dirty fuel filter,

Take a look at those simple things and let me know if its any of these.

I have a Karcher HDS 750 1989 Year model

This machine just keeps going, it's had a fairly tough life but it has stood up to it all,

i hadent spent anything on it until about 6 months ago when i purchased a new fuel pump for it as the old was wasn't pushing 170PSI to the Disiel injector it had slowly droped 70psi, and it doesn't create a hotter burn in the boiler, but still very good for a 19yr old pump,

other than that thats all it's needed, it's still going strong to date
Very robust machine.

my e-mail is [email protected]

Cheers Matt.

SOURCE: hi,karcher hds hot pressure washer now pressure

what you need to do is, take the screw fitting which goes to the water tank off, then the one that goes from the water tank to the pump head .
then put the one that was in the first place going to the water tank on to the pump and force feed with water.
see if you can see water leaking from any where seals hose.
try running the machine to check the pressure.
if water leaking from pump head you need seals.

If there is nothing wrong with the machine but you have lost power over the years you have been working it. It could be that the machine needs a new pump kit or/and change the pressure nozzle.
smaller issues could be that the pump isnt turned to high pressure or if you have an servo control on the gun that it is turned to low pressure instead of high pressure.

Karcher hds 558c after about 15mins looses pressure, then about 30 seconds later pure stream come out

Sounds like water is not getting to the pump for some reason. As the pump needs constant water flowing through it for cooling, you should not operate the unit until you find the problem. The pump could be damaged.

Karcher hds 558c no power to diesel pump solenoid

This can be very simple to find the fault. One can replace the solenoid by a new one. If the new one does not work, then the fault is coming from the control board. Many control boards nowadays are changed by a new one. Also there are cases were the transformer supplying control boards and solenoid valves, gets faulty. Some times there are also relays in the system, which also can go faulty. The best way, is to go first for the easiest fault and proceed by elimination, to the other components. I hope you only have a fault, in the solenoid.

Just bought a used karcher hds 500ci every now & again lots of smoke belches out burner is this a bad sign ? also cant seem to get the chemicals to pick up any tips

you burner assy needs to be cleaned , spark electrodes properly gapped and the fuel pump pressure set , the chemical pick up often gets clogged , and the chemical valve ( pump side becomes jammed ( a small ball bearing jams in the seat )
also clean out the diesel tank and clean or replace the fuel filter , if the smokes is white thats caused by water in the fuel , black smoke is too much fuel going to the burner assy or your ignition electrodes not igniting it

My karcher hds 745 has started blowing fuses. it switches on the power light comes on and it makes a buzzing noise for about five seconds and then blows the mains 13amp fuse. i have replaced it twice but...

Dear dumbelldaveb,
Having a 13A fuse I am concluding that the machine is single phase. Most probably you have a faulty capacitor. Check the capacitor and if you find it expanded and leaking...then you must change it with a new one. If you see the capacitor is normal just the same it could be shorted. So change the capacitor with a new one and try to start the machine WITHOUT LOAD. Which means no water inlet and no gun attached. Doing this you can also remove temporarly the micro switches. If the motor still hums, then most probably there is a fault in the electric motor.
Now if you find out that the fault is the capacitor (which in my opinion it is the case)...you must see why the capacitor broke. If when using the machine and the gun is closed, the machine starts on and off on its own,...this will damage the capacitor. This on and off fault could come from a leaking gun. Or a leak from the seals. Whatever....the machine must not be left going ON and Off when the gun is closed. This ON and OFF could be due to faulty micro switches and control valves.
I am very sorry to mention a lot of things, but I hope as in many cases,..the changing of the capacitor will solve the problem. I wish to add that the electrical lead wire must be checked. On many occasions I found that the electrical lead wire from the plug to the machine was damaged and shorted, ..due to pulling, wear and tear.
Regards,
Fulltech.
