Toilet was leaking and plumber said it was the flapper and replaced the flapper. After doing so, the toilet handle wouldn’t work. Never had any issues prior! Is this due to replacing the flapper? They...

The handle needs to return to the up position with out binding (sticking) otherwise the chain between handle and flapper may be taught and when closed causing the flapper to leak. If handle is binding, loosen large plastic nut, on inside of tank that holds handle to tank, by 1/8 turns until it returns to up position freely.

If handle not sticking, check that chain is not taught when flapper is closed and handle up. Even the slightest tension on the flapper may cause leaking. Adjust chain length so it is just loose. Make the chain too long and it may get caught in the flapper. It's adjust by trial and error until right.

Flapper closes before toilet has completely flushed,

sometimes those flappers get leaks in them and water seeps into the inside and doesnt allow the flapper to stay afloat long enough for the water to empty. Just replace the flapper with a universal replacement flapper. Very easy and cheap fix.

Our toilet will not hold water in the bowl?

it is time to replace the flapper. turn water off, remove old flapper, wipe port off with rag where flapper seals, adjust chain to same length as old flapper, install new flapper. fluidmaster is the best brand.

The chain in my tto toilet came off of the pink flapper. how do i repair this and will it hold

The flapper assembly alone can be replaced. Turn off the water supply to the toilet and manually lift and remove the flapper from the fill tube - if you have to cut it, that's ok. Inspect the lip the flapper sits on, looking for chips or flaws that make that surface uneven.Go to your local hardware store - they have a large variety of replacement flappers from just a couple of dollars to pricier versions. Matching flapper color is not important - design and style is! Your fill tube probably has ears on the sides - you'll want to make sure you get an eared replacement. Usually the replacement flapper will have "extra " parts cast into the rubber for multiple applications, and these can be removed with scissors or a razor knife. Follow instructions provided with the flapper and know you just saved a healthy amount of cash over a service call!

The water in the tank lowers enough to cause the float to sink to the point where more water must come in. I can't detect the leak. It happens about once an hour.

The flapper valve must be leaking very slowly. If replacing the flapper valve doesn't do it you might have to replace the flapper and seat. Fluidmaster makes a nice one but there are others too. You will have to remove the tank to replace the seat, but if the flapper is the only problem it is easy. Also make sure the trip chain isn't getting caught under the flapper, holding it open.

I have a kohler one pease model K-3434 I Have replaced all parts kohler parts the problem i had before was the flapper was not sealing properly after replacing all parts i still have the same problem...

Try cleaning the surface of the drain hole where the flapper fits. There might be crud causing it to not seal. Sometimes the flapper itself is not large enough (or too large) to properly fit the hole. If no good you might try weighting the flapper. Not easy to do. You'll have to pull the flapper, dry it completely find the right adhesive place the weight just right. And hope that works. Good Luck...
