My router will not allow me to connect to the internet, when the computers are plugged into it, it worked fine last night.

Check if you can ping 8.8.8.8 it might be just a DNS issue.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi Then save settings and restart router Then connect cable from internet service provider to WAN port of router and connect ethenet lan cable from computer to lan port of router. . There must be a small reset button on your router. Hold it down for 30 seconds. Release it. wait for one minute. Now unplug the power and plug it back in. Wait for 1 minute.
Once you reset the router, it will come back to factory default settings.
You will need to reconfigure the router form the start according to your Internet service provider.

1. contact your Internet provider and see if there are any connectivity issues in your area.
2. Try leaving the router off for more like 1 minute and then plug it back into the AC.

4.Then go to the manufacturers site and download the lastest firmware for your router ( the update.)
5. make sure you router is not near a TV, microwave, cell phone, cordless phone, or a florescent light source.

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Check your downstream speed via the router control panel 192.168.0.1 if there is no speed there is no internet

First unplug router, turn off computer. Then plug ethernet into router then power up. Allow time for router to recognise internet connection and boot up completely. Then plug second ethernet into computer then power up computer. Allow enough time for the router to recognise computer and the computer to recognise router. You should be able to access internet within a few minutes. If not you might want to verify that the router is not outdated and fully functioning.

check you cable connections, try to check if you can go online wired to the router if you are connecting wirelessly. You can also bypass the router and connect directly to the modem to make sure its working.

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work
